Hi .. are you guys all right? Read in the news that the sky opened up yesterday over Brisbane, causing flooding and mayhem (3" rain in an hour).

I hope that you and your property are ok!

You rang? : )

We're all good. Yep, Brisbane copped heaps of rain over the last 48 hours, particularly yesterday, lots of reports of flooding and overflowing stormwater, but not too bad where we are.

No damage at our place but the tonneau cover on the F-100 has needs about 6 new tie downs and the hounds are very restless from being inside for so long : D
It has at least cooled things down a little!

X1's are a great bike in the rain

Qld mops up after wild weather
08:13 AEST Wed Feb 17 2010 3 hours ago

Southeast Queensland is cleaning up after wild weather over the past two days that has brought flooding which inundated homes and left hundreds of cars under water.

Meanwhile, central Queensland can expect thunderstorms and heavy rain as the weather system moves north.

Brisbane's CBD was among the hardest hit areas on Tuesday, receiving 120mm of rain, most of it in an hour-long downpour that flooded streets, entered buildings, disrupted public transport and submerged cars.

Weatherzone.com.au reported the city received its heaviest 10-minute downpour of rain in at least eight years, receiving 25mm just after 11.40am (AEST).

Other suburbs that experienced heavy downfalls included Rochedale (105mm), Priestdale (99mm) and Carbrook (93mm).

In the Brisbane westside suburb of Milton, localised flooding carried cars down streets, with reports of over 200 cars being washed away between Milton and Windsor.

Further north Beerwah received 150mm and

Rescue ropes and a winch cable pulled the trio to safety.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Gavin Holcombe said while showers are likely in the southeast corner, moderate to heavy falls are likely in central Queensland, from Bundaberg northwards.

"The heavy activity is more likely to be inland rather than on the coast itself, but places like Rockhampton could certainly see some reasonable rainfall by tonight," he said.

Parched Toowoomba, west of Brisbane received 87mm overnight on Monday, its best rainfall in 11 years.

"They could certainly do with a lot more rain yet," Mr Holcombe said.

Good to hear that you two and your belongings didn't float out to sea!!

We need you to stay ok. Looking forward to seeing you on these shores soon!

Fres... I'm good. Been really busy lately and the 1125 board is full of arguments I don't have the time to deal with right now.

Yup, we are A-Ok. Rain has eased off a little today. Had to send Ronin off on a tow-ute this morning for repair, so the rain stopped for me : )

Time for a clean-up and get on with things today.
And Court I believe you were holding up jazz hands...not just ordinary fingers ; )

"Misty" is an Australian assembled '74 model, short wheelbase, 2WD, though she has a '77 grille : )

The chassis and bodies were imported (from Canada I think) then assembled with local engines, transmissions, steering column, electrics etc. Misty still has the original 302 Cleveland, C4 auto and 3.0:1 diff.

I have one of the next generation from yours. They switched in '80 IIRC. This summer I plan to start "tinkering" with the '82 my father gave me. He's had it since '84. 300/6, should be a nice father/3 daughters project. All it really needs is cab corners and a lot of elbow grease.

My Dad has always had Fords, Fairlanes and Falcons, he still has his '64 Fairlane 500. I've had a few Fords now, plus Valiants... and a VeeDub : D

Yep, the change was '80. Looks like your '82 would come up nice with not much work at all. Genuine stepsides are incredibly rare here, and the 300 six is pretty uncommon too, though I've read they're a really nice motor. I'm jealous of your sliding back window, got to get me one of those : )

This is Misty...

had a 79 f100custom with the 302 manual that was put on the floor. who ever had it put a hydraulic lift for the bed so it would dump. used to use the crap out of it. the dealer i found it at was using it during there construction of a new building at the time. had over 200k on it when i blew out the rear end. that was when it was time to call it quits. that thing was a work horse.

I've been drooling through the NPD catalog recently looking for all the things I'd like to have. It's got a wood bed in it that will have to be replaced but I think I can salvage everything else except maybe the tailgate. I love the old chain hook tailgates for some reason. That sliding glass is original and is the easiest way into the truck since the plastic latch is broken, will have to replace that too. I just won a '82 sales brochure on e-bay that gives all the color codes and combos. It was originally silver/blue but looks dingy grey now. I can't wait to get into it. Shouldn't take more than a weekend to at least get it on the road.

Misty is a good looking machine, round headlights are one thing I wish mine had.
