"It was like dancing with an elephant, and the elephant was doing a different dance," Buell said. "That part was always very difficult and was absolutely exhausting."

"In my opinion, Buell was really starting to hit its stride" when Harley-Davidson dropped it, said Graham Mansill, a Buell rider from Brisbane, Australia.

Go EBR!!!!

If the HD board were half as smart as they think they are, they would have handed the keys of HD to Erik and said, "Turn this around for us". I'm guessing a challenge like that would have been too good to pass up, but they chose to go another way and boy oh boy are they in for a surprise!!!

I absolutely agree with that. Erik had a pretty neat vision how to change Harley-Davidson's course and restore them to icon status.

I fear the folks the board has asked to do that spend more time waxing about how it things used to be and lack any vision or plan. One of the things I am getting from folks who are still there is the blatant lack of any real plan. . . beyond lower your head, work harder and ROAR.

We'll see.

after seeing this survey thing,it looks like they have no idea which way their going when there asking people what kind of advertising they like. it's a bunch of B.S. i still think if it was possible to start a company with buell owners and buy up the hd stock. force those bozo's out of the boardroom and move on from there.

A local newsradio report this morning said EBR was licensed to build 25 bikes. I'm wondering if that is 25 in total or 25 in 2010? If 25 in total, then what?

It will be interesting to watch and to see how this upcoming season shakes out for both EBR and for HD-Corp.
