Hootowl,
yes Vector

Phelan,
that one is actually a Vector W8, the earlier model.

this is an M12;

there was a W2 before the W8 and a WX3 between the W8 and the M12. i used to work with a guy who had a hand in the manufacturing team, very cool stories.

i saw my first W2 at the intl car show in san francisco in the early 80s, i then followed the progress to the W8, which i absolutely love!!! aluminum V8, twin turbo, 3 speed auto, 90 in first gear!! wow!! never liked the newer ones much, too soft looking.

W2;

Road, was along time ago I was actually doubting myself after i wrote it . I kept saying to myself I know it was 302 but not a boss motor. I also had a DONZI boat with a 351 windsor or cleveland motor Hollman Moody built it. That Ford motor fing screamed, but that whole displacement thing drives me nuts anyway.

No GM came with 302 in 67,69 and several in the 70's it was essentailly a 400 small block with like a 283 crank in the 70's models.
The Cammarro ss and z-28 in 67/69 came with a 302 dual quad motor from the factory

Just some info...

The 302 was a Z28 only engine (not an SS) produced from 67-69, but not 1970. It had a 4.00 inch bore (same as a 327/350) and a 3.00 inch stroke (same as a 265/283). Dual carbs was an option.

As for the 400 small block, it is no myth. It was manufactured from 1970-1980 and used in heavy cars and trucks.

The V-8's factory installed in the Monza's were 262's(1975-1976) & 305's (1976-1980). Some California and high altitude models came with 350's.

A convertible VW Karmann Ghia body dropped on a well-outfitted Porsche chassis and MOTOR.

Or, one of those Tesla electric supercars.

Whoops, thanks Sleez. I mixed up my numbers on that one. Been a while since I've studied my Vectors lol. Guess I could jump back into Calculus. I actually like the M-12 better than the W-8, but that's just me.

A lot of passionate answers, and great choices. I especially like Cityslicker's first and Iman (Steve)'s picks as they could've came out of my iphone's photo library. The Alfa Romero is sexy, I love the Lambo bike, and the H3T concept is the truck GM SHOULD have built instead of any of the BS Hummers that have.

I stand corrected see I told you I was doubting myself. The only 302 made in the 70's were prototype aluminums in vega's that never saw production.
I do know however the monza I had had a 4bbl not a 2 and a hacky exhaust.I do not know what motor was in it. It may have been and probably was done after purchase. The car was a sleeper though I kid you not it was fast as hell.
Interesting that the 302 was only offered in the Z/28 I thought the rally sport and ss came with it as well.
Thanks Dentguy interesting info their.

Hey Brum...I had one of those monza's. Black with tan leather interior. I could spin the wheels the whole 1/4 mile and get thrown out of Englishtown. The coolest car I ever had was a 64 Coupe de'ville. Last year of the fins and side by side headlamps.

Also a fan of the Eaton fuller. I cut my teeth on a 69 Autocar Dump with a 13 double overdrive with SUDD rears. Loved it.

As far as money not being an object... I would have to go with early to mid 50's Cadillac, when they still had steel interiors and short fat fins. Probably a ragtop too.

One of these would be kinda cool too, but it would probably need a machine gun mounted on it to make it really really cool.

Z-28 was an engine designation...302 cubic inches...two versions..."street" version had a single 4 barrel carb...."race" version had a dual 4 barrel crossram intake as the obvious visible difference.

Later Z-28 became a bastardized identifier.

A guy I went to school with had a '69 Z28 with the 302 and Muncy 4 spd. When he got it the ODO was at like 12,000.

It was the small block Chevy version of a two stroke. When it hit 4,500 rpm it went ballistic to 9,200 rpm. Awesome gear banger.

My Dad and his brothers had a lot of cool muscle cars when they were young and Dad still has a bunch of cool cars-two camaros, '03 Z06 and a LS7 CTS-V, but he still says that the one muscle car he says he would pick over the rest is a 302 Z28 with what he calls "offroad chambered exhaust".

Myself, I'd like an all original Shelby 427 Cobra.

I'd LOVE to have one of those early (78 and earlier) Z cars that got sent back to the Nissan factory, reconditioned back to NEW and re-released by the factory with a new warranty.

Had two 1978 280Z's, first the 2 seater, then the 2+2- LOVED these cars, especially the 2+2. No car has ever fit me as well as a 280Z.

One of these days... ; )

I just want my first car back, a 67 Ford Fairlane.
If money were no object I'd still want my Fairlane... but it'd be insanely modified.
Something like this...

I also would want my first car (truck) back as well, insanely modified, also a '67. I had a '67 Chevy longwide, 292 I6 w/ granny 4 speed. Money no object, I would build it to look like a new truck designed to look like an old truck. I would build the 292 with twin turbos, EFI, and dynamically balanced to rev higher. These things originally shook like crazy above 4500 RPM, but had 275 lb ft @only 1600 RPM! I'd be happy with 6-700 HP. I'd back it with a 6 speed instead of the granny gears, it'd have late GM suspension, and it'd be rolling the factory 20's from the late Silverado SS.

Since hot rods don't need fenders in NH, I'd have a street legal version of this made

Gino Spada #4 (a friend of mine who passed away this past fall)

and since money is no object, might as well build a street legal one of these too!

Don Lajoie #711 (and the father of NASCAR's Randy Lajoie)

Does anybody else remember the Danbury Raceareana?
