My expectations were low for how the dinorockers would perform, but I have to say that was the best halftime show I can remember seeing in a loooong time. Can anyone think of one that was better? |

I thought it was very good too. Not sure how much of what we were hearing was Townsend or the backup guitarist though. I heard on the radio Friday that Daltrey said he'd never been to a U.S. football game before this. |

They did a pretty darn good job . . it was sort of a commercial canned sort of performance. What can you do with 6 minutes? It was pleasing to see Pete Townshend break out the SJ-200. Legendary. Their BEST performance was doubtless the Concert for America in 2001. The OWNED that show. |

Daltry did a great job on vocals, despite an apparent problem with his in-ear monitors (poking at his L ear a couple times). Townsend...freakin' amazing for a guy who's - from what I recall - legally deaf. He's definitely kept his skills. Not sure who was on the keys...but DAMN, he nailed it ALL. Drums....well, my heart goes out to the guy. No mention of his name anywhere I could find, and he looked a little like Nigel Tufnel...but stepping into Moon's shoes? Very impressive. All in all...I could care less that it was a superbowl halftime show. Or that it was a very "safe" set of songs. Seeing those guys on stage again? AWESOME. Screw the second half - put the boys back on stage!! |

The Who sounded great. My only complaint is they used to do it with a guitar, bass, drummer, and singer. They must have had seven guys out there tonight filling in the holes. All of 'em should have received some camera time, but it looks like orders were out to only show Pete, Roger and the drummer. |

Yeah, best halftime show I can remember. But Janets wardrobe malfunction was way better than Petes. |

No one said life is fair, being able to play at SuperBowl 44 on stage with the WHO, what back up or studio musician would complain about no camera time? Jeese, go out and earn your stripes before making demands like that. I hope I am half as good as Roger or Pete at what ever it is I do that compares to their skill set when I am their age and lived the life of a rocker like they did. |

I'm always impressed when rockers who were older than me when in their prime, can still perform well when I'm TWICE as old now as they were in their prime. If that makes any sense at all... especially after all this beer and that 4th... I'm amazed Daltry can still sing at all. Great job. |

Xbimmer, what scares me is that did make sense and I had no beers today. I think it all started with the kick off at the second half. |

We had a huge party in NYC and everyone here totally dug the Who's performance. We jammed to "Live at Leeds" afterwards and that was the most memorable part. Congratulations to Drew Brees. |

I think since "the Who" played the half time show when the team that has the fan cheer of Who Dat they should change there name to "the Who Dat" |

Wow I must be on a way different frequency because I thought they sucked. It almost seemed embarassing. And I was born in 1961. They weren't singing...they were shouting, and the music wasn't much better IMO. Seemed like a weird choice for Halftime. There are so many great bands... I wonder about that decision. |

They weren't singing... No...they were lip singing! It was ridiculous just how far off the lead singer was. |

I had an elderly lady ask me who the halftime act was for the Superbowl. I said, " the Who". No lie, she replied, " Who?" I went on to explain they are a rock group from the 60's, mainly. She then said they are a "black group". |

No kidding? I'll have to play that back and see for myself. I wouldn't be surprised. At their advanced age they might have forgotten the lyrics Am I right in assuming they never came up with any new material? They just kept regurgitating the same old stuff for 20-30 years? |

I thought the Who was just sad. Roger Daltrey's voice just isn't what it used to be. And 17 minutes isn't enough to even get the Who warmed up. For a taste of the real thing: http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/the-who/concerts/fil lmore-east-april-06-1968.html |

I was stoked to see them play- thought Daltrey was really straining to hit the notes of his youth, but overall it was a good go. Enjoyed the Stones much more- what, wasn't that last year? Or was it Prince? |
