Since there's always some political battles on Badweb and the real world...I'd like to say FACK POLITICS!! No matter who ya are, who ya voted for or whatever.... Our best friends/neighbors are die-hard gun toting, camo wearing Obama hating FOX news addict Republicans. And ya know what...we'd take em over any democrat any day of the week even though we're diehard dems. Ft_Bsrd and Blake are conservative as hell, but they're good peeps and take care of the badweb. So give everyone a chance no matter what their politics are. Cold beer, hot women and Buells are the most important things in life anyways  Repub, Dem... fack Harley Davidson we can all agree on!!! rant over | ||

I would buy a t-shirt that say F politics on the front, and lists all the over three term incumbants (from either side of the aisle) with a slogan to vote em all out. How long do you leave a turd floating before you decide its time to clean the air ?.... Its time to flush em. And their ingrained agendas. Again either side. Firm believer in term limits and forcibly by Jeffersonian means if need be. | ||

Most folks are surprised when they meet me. Mostly because I'm not 400lbs, don't have horns, and don't breathe fire. I suspect those of the "other" political persuasion are the same. I suspect that given close proximity to motorcycles and beer even the staunchest of political rivals would find solace in one another. God, Country, Corps. The rest is just BS. | ||

I gave up watching the news, current affairs, and free to air television 10 years ago, same time as I stopped working for some of it. They hire the smartest, most resourceful young people to scour the world to find 'angles' that will evoke the most emotive response from the consumers that devour it. Then they have meetings to see how it can be 'massaged'. My advice to anyone if they want to brighten their outlook on life, turn the TV off - or over to ESPN and leave it there. There are plenty of more objective resources for keeping 'informed' on things that are actually pertinent. Best Talking Heads Song? I still think it's Psycho Killer. | ||

I listen to talk radio to listen to like minded people. You know, kind of like going to a hobby specific forum. It doesnt make me ashamed to listen to neil boortz or rush. I also watch countdown and read and post on liberal political forums so I get plenty of perspective. | ||

My bumper sticker says "Politicians and diapers need to be changed often for the same reason". I get lots of thumbs of from other drivers. I have downloded the Suprems decision ref. campaign financing and intend to read the arguments, opionions and dissenting opinions this weekend (several feet of snow predicted). Perhaps the last national election is the last one I will have voted in. If some of the media (both left and right)is correct China will be able to fund candidates from both parties and thus no matter who wins Chinas reps will be in control of our Govt. that is why I need to read the whole 200 or so pages. | ||

I lived in MD for three years or I should say I maintained an address in Columbia MD as I was deployed most of the time. Like every other place I have lived there are some great things and some not so great things. I do not miss the traffic but I loved Fells Point http://www.fellspoint.us/, the food and of course Fredrick HD or Fredneck HD or is it Fredrock HD/Buell were I bought my first Buell in 1997 (DBR = Days Before Ratbuell). MD is in great proximately to other places and very easy to get home to Camp Lejeune and other places along the coast. My sister was living in NJ and Delaware while I was there so we got to visit a lot. I also got to go to NY to see the ball drop with 500,000 of my closest friends. I wont do that again. I had to laugh at the "Speaking British" comment. I lived in the UK for two years 1983 - 1985 loved the UK, hated the weather. I recently had a job offer back in MD. It is a great career opportunity but I really want to stay in Colorado a few more years. B00stzx3 my neighbor was/is a big Obama supporter, he lost his business a month ago and blames Bush (I blame his management). I want to say I told you so but I don't because he is a great guy and he and I realize that we will not change each others opinions about politics (plus it is bad to kick someone while they are down). I am a registered Independent but vote conservatively and he is a bleeding heart liberal (and rides a Harley, I wonder if their is a correlation). |
