Hey youn's:

I've got the same wooden sled I grew up on, intact, probably 35+ years old, just cleaned the wood and sanded the steel rails. We've got some good snow/ice coming down, should set up good overnite.

Manufactured by Standard Novelty Works in Duncammon PA, it's my beloved Cyclone GT. #550. Faster than any Flexible Flyer...

Those who know antiques: Is this sled collectible? It's a moot point about the $$$, I'm hoping to sled with it given the chance tomorrow.

After cleaning it and sanding the rails, it looks as good as ever.

YEEEEHAAAA!!! : )

When I was 12 living in East Tennessee it snowed. Next day sun melted the snow a little, then it froze. WOOO HOOOO head first on a flexible flyer coming down an iced over mountain road.

Just ride it!

Is it collectable? Yes.

Is it valuable?
Well, if you don't have it for sale then it is priceless.

Enjoy the ride, make it fly.

I suggest spraying on some of Clark W. Griswold's new vegetable-based super lubricant. It worked out OK for him.
