well, you know sometimes learning something can make you feel like a fool... case in point: I have owned a few bikes in the last 4-5 years and I have generally enjoyed them. thought I was a decent rider, but by no means accomplished. I bought a buell blast just to commute to and from work, since i had a GSXR750 at the time and it was neither great on gas (although better than a car, and a 1000) or particularly comfortable. The buell has about 1/4 the power and has a bit of a rough transmission (although I think it might be time to change transmission fluid, and I've heard syn3 helps smooth it out a bit). long story short I don't have any curvy roads on the commute and yet i have managed to grind down the stock footpegs quite a bit and achieve lean angles just making right and left had turns that I wouldn't have thought possible on most of the other bikes i have owned... I just about have my knee down just taking a right hand into my neighborhood (probably could, doesn't bode well with the neighbors). I have heard Buells handle well, but I didn't quite figure that filtered down all the way to the blast... what a fun little bike! I don't think I've had this much fun on a bike in a quite some time.

Be careful, that sprocket doesn't grip well! DAMHIK! The Blast is very easy to throw around in the turns, its a ton of fun too.

Don't bother screwing around with the intake and exhaust. The stock setup is great and is designed to help cool the motor. It is a 30hp bike, there isn't much you can do with it to increase power without costing a ton. Enjoy it for what you got it for, commuting.

I got mine with 1500 miles for $1500 back in June, and I enjoy every 85mpg commute : )

that is another question... don't mean to get out of quick board realm here... i get about 60 average... granted i commute at around 70 mph... average? and does anyone have any mirrors hanging around? i destroyed one of them while i was, um, dual sporting.... on a mountain bike trail... fun, but not recommended to anyone who doesn't want to try to carry a 350lb bike...
