Well, that's a new on on me.

"How could one feel desire to be with a woman, who God has made unclean, when one could be with a man, who is clean? Surely this must be wrong."

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/28/afghan- men-struggle-sexual-identity-study-finds/

"Women are for children, boys are for pleasure"

The germanic warrior tribes that conquered most of Europe before the Roman Empire came to be fought naked, and often slept with each other. Young boys had to have sex with an older warrior before he was considered a man. I wonder if this is a holdover from that influence, or if it is the natural state of humans to shun those who are different, including a different sex.

This'll keep sociologists busy for years.

Lawyers and sociologists, and politicians, religous zealots..... maybe they could just fight each other and the real armies can stay home.

We will come in and clean up the biohazard carnage.

Napalm should do the trick nicely.

Funny this article does not mention any female/female relationships. More sociosexual censorship?

In one instance, a group of local male interpreters had contracted gonorrhea anally but refused to believe they could have contracted it sexually -- "because they were not homosexuals."

I hate to laugh but I must.

i saw a lot of them holding hands over in the middle east when i was over there. how many of you would walk down the street with your bud and hold his hand and try to convince someone that your not gay. good luck on that one. that report doesn't surprise me at all. it was bad enough we had to deal with our own shipmates who were gay. that could be a whole nother thread in itself?

If I remember correctly, Caesar actually encouraged homosexuality in his troops. Thought they'd fight harder if they had a loved one in danger.

This story sounds a lot like the African American "down-low" culture.

I guess sociologists & researchers have to make a living & justify their places too.
It seems the more farout the subject matter the more it counts.
Can't help feeling the money would be better spent elsewhere though.

They reported on a study conducted by the Army with our tax dollars. How is that not news?

I spent half an hour one day trying to convince our terp that if one man has sex with another man, and both are willing participants, both men are gay. He couldn't understand how that could be. He said many men just want to practice for when they are married. It's a common understanding that it's only gay if you continue to do it after marriage. It's not an often followed theory however. I had a shooting match lined up with one of my checkpoint commanders. We were trying to determine the prize. I had about 2500 afghanis on me ($50.00) and he said he couldn't even buy a mule to f@#k with that. WOW! They say that women are for babies, boys are for pleasure, and animals are for ecstasy. Three main problems with this place (other than not a Buell in sight).
1: No Whisky.
2: They cover their women.
3: Widespread "sexual identity confusion".

Great story, Joel. Traditional middle-eastern cultures' disregard for women is tragic.

Culture, social organization, could be our species' most successful development. Physical adaptations develop slowly compared with thoughts & ideas.
Perhaps that's enabling us to ransack things so quickly here.
