decided to make some use off all these backroads in florida. there is more unpaved roads then paved ones around here it seems.
so i started doing kamikazi runs down the back fire roads and such. then came across a park with trails. so i hit some of them up. this seems to be what passes as atv trails in florida... most of them just seem more like a level b road back home... i was hoping for more entertaining terain!
anyway, on to some pics from the day!
you can still carry ALOT of speed on these roads though!!!
plenty of the water, but not the stuff when i was way out in the middle of no where. the stuff out in that prairie was like glue and those corsa III's do have there limits lol.
it was a little below the axles. so not to bad. ive run through deeper water then that enough times on paved roads. although it was a little sketchy on the sandy road
and i wish i would have! i was hoping to come across one. i wanted a pic of the bike with a gator wandering around lol!
i did kick the ass end out and spray a couple dogs that appeared out in the middle of nowhere and started trying to chase me. they backed off when they started getting pelted by the tire spray.
and yep, no cops and almost nothing else. the fire roads are fun. light the wick and cruise 80+ with the rearend hung out power sliding nice long corners. its so damn much fun
it was a nice change playing like this on one of my 1125's it s usually something i do on the 9r.
Sounds like a fun day! It is all good if you can keep the front wheel under you.....just remember, it won't be the same kind of riding after a week of being dry.
I used to do those kind of trails and such around Ocala NF with my Jeep. About two hot, muggy, buggy weekends and it all became boring. Fun for a while though. Another reason for my moving to Tennessee!
I was going to ask about the alligators, being from up north, the one time I went to Florida I didn't realize that alligators are frickin' everywhere down there.
Only one of those pics show possible gator habitat...so unless you ran across one that was traveling between ponds...not so much chance of running across one.
Did you all know gators create their own habitat??? Yup...they dig their own ponds..birds carry in fish eggs...next thing you know...pond full of fish...a regular gator buffet...not to mention habitat for frogs, turtles, snakes and a wide variety of birds...some of the ponds are maintained generation after generation...
a little more ground clearance and some knobbies would have been good! lol. and i was really wishing i had some duct tape atleast and i would have taped my camera to my helmet and made a short video!
i really need to invest in a helmet cam!!! ive been wanting one for years anyway for trackdays and some other rides
