Have been spent remodeling the downstairs family room, bathroom and bedroom.

Learned a lot, had fun and got a bitchin room about finished, just waitin on a couch, pretty much built around a big screen plasma and total entertainment.

I had a few pics of the starting point but lost em when my old laptop crashed, this is the only one I have currently.

as you can see ceramic tile, painted wood paneling and it is hard to tell from the pic but the fireplace had a shiny coat on it, was not plumb and the mantel was Bricks soldiered on top ugggggggg

Here is a section I built out so I could have a built in book case and enclosure for a sub woofer.

And here is what I found under the 5 layers or linoleum floor in the bathroom...

and the fix, ignore the pipe sticking out that was just a test to make sure the hole was on center...

(the reason for all the rot, the closet flange was installed on a 15 degree angle so the crapper never sealed flush to it)

Here is what the Bathroom looks like now, it is a small full bath with a stand up shower so it is hard to get pics.

and the running bond tiles...

Here are the pics of the built ins, ent center, etc

a cool pic of the celling light

And the fire place, this turned into a large project. It almost came down cause the builders didn't tie the uppermost run to the wall so when I pulled the wood paneling off, which was placed behind the brick, it did the worm all the way down till I did the O-Shite move to throw it back up to place LOL.

I re tied the upper most part to the wall stripped off the gloss coat and re tuckpointed the whole thing, including the fire box. Added a Blue stone mantel and new fire doors...

Any questions or more pics, let me know...

Answer: Yes, but add strippers ; )

Where that built in Ent Center is used to be a wet bar, I basically built this room around a 52" plasma LOL

You stole my floor tile!

Here's the hillbilly kitchen while I was laying the tile.

Tile done, still waiting for a cabinet that arrived damaged.

Getting back to 'normal'. Cabinets are installed and the new counter top is in!

I laid about 450 sf of that tile in my house. I'm glad that's over.

Nice job!

Now just don't have any kids....or a wife....they really know how to screw things up. I did a counter top in ceramic tile once...long ago...the first thing that happened was "Someone" opened a coconut on the counter top and cracked the tile. Then there was the total kitchen rebuild, doubled the size, supported the floor straightened the walls, only to have the new hickory floor getting damaged due to a ceral bowl getting thrown to it, then there was the BIG scratch in the custom made countertop that "I don't know" put there. That place was a lost cause for me.

But you, you seem to be a responsible young man with a very responsible wife, you two will probably have some really responsible children, so get busy!

Spidey...

Question, why did you pull your A/V lines out of the wall where you did? Why not under the wall mount to keep them hidden? Sorry, just the systems integrator in me!

Looks great!

@Friebolt32-I think the width of the TV will cover the wires. Although I would have put the outlet under the TV mount myself.

Spidey- Is there any other AV components that will house the rack? Are you going to implement any type of cooling solution for the rack? I really like how clean everything is put together.

What Piot said, there is a 52 inch plasma going over it and those wires come out exactly where the input is on the TV so it will be covered by the TV and directly behind where they will plug in, reducing length and making it easier to route....

Nevrenuf,
What inclusion are you seeing? This is the first real carpentry project I have ever done...

Tony and Tom, , great job. I know what you have gone through to get where you are. Isn't it amazing how painful the process can be at times? Good thing the payoff is so rewarding-having what you want and knowing that you did it yourself.

Spidey, for your first carpentry project, you have done an amazing job-some people will never do that well, let alone on their first try. Now you get to enjoy it. Bravo!
