With the demise of Buell is seems like badweb is not much of a motorcycle board anymore. Just look at the quickboard as an example. Within the first 15 posts 3 of them are about religion. How that fits into a buell website I have no idea? Of those first 15 posts only 2 of them even remotely have to do with motorcycles. Is Badweb just going to be a social forum now? I think that is what the Quickboard is for, the model specific boards are much more motorcycle focused. | ||

Since you are "FNG" and have only been here since October you haven't been here over winter. It always gets like this when folks aren't riding. I suggest that if the topics at hand disturb you that you avoid Quickboard, a general discussion/non-motorcycle section if Bad web, and stick to the numerous model specific sections of Bad web. There is a specific section just for politics and religion as well but it seems like the quickboard has now become that. Like I said it seems like badweb has become more of a social board then it is about motorcycles. All good and well if that is what folks want but I wonder what will happen to the sponsors? | ||

You are all taking what I said out of context. I am making an observation and asking questions of what will become of badweb now with Buell dying? I have seen this happen on manny boards that were devoted to a specific brand. They can survive but when sponsors dry up the members need to contribute financially to keep it alive. Remember American Thunderbike Club? A lot of you have not been around long enough to even know what that was. I am not a newby BTW, just a new name. I have been part of the Buell community since 1999 and own 9 Buells. | ||

Help us out, Queen - post something you want to talk about and I guarantee somebody will jump at the chance to talk bikes. M. The backfire board is supposed to be where religion and politics are discussed not the quick board. We are shooting for 120mph+ this year with the 500cc and 125mph+ with a 650 this year BTW!! (Message edited by queenofspeed on January 24, 2010) | ||

I've been a member here for 6 years TODAY! (do I get an anniversary present Blake?) As with many, I came for the technical information & stayed for the people. The social side of the forum (Quickboard) has developed a lot, & I find there's more & more political, religious & gun threads than ever, also less tolerance for dissenting views. However that's life, I've got a thick enough skin & I can give as good as I get or better. So I keep hanging around trying to inject a little balance, & when a thread get's beyond my interest I let it go. There seems to be more dross than there used to be but there are still some good threads with serious debate going on. We're all here for the bikes but all have other interests as well, & when you need information about something or want to share something, who better than people you already have a connection with. | ||

Wow, you are right you cannot post in the backfire section. There use to be a specific section just for political and religious threads. Not sure why it was changed? Hey Dan! I had a friend call you to discuss motor options for his cafe racer Sportster project. He was impressed and excited with your advice. That is what I think Badweb is about, connections with information and social networking. It is not an encyclopedia or technical PDF but a living, fighting, loving, heart touching, totally piss you off, family gathering place. I figure this site will start looking more like WildGuzzi.com, a fun place to be. Is Badweb just going to be a social forum now? I love this social forum! It breaks up my day and puts a smile on my face. If I don't like a thread, I don't read it. If I want to learn something about a particular bike, I go to that forum. Keep the threads coming. (This is meant in a nice way, too  ) | ||

Well, yea I'v noticed a change here, and yea as F B pointed out, its recovery from cabin fever, but mostly, most everybody is pissed, and thats not likely to change anytime soon, if ever. Kind of ill dirrected, but still you can feel it in the air. We here shouldn't be snipping or short with each other, but the divorce tends to have that effect. Before it was a forum with a future, but now its a forum stranded in the past. No more 'News' or rather new product(Buell's)to have conversation or plans for. +1. About the QB, yes it does have more hot topic political threads than I would like, but if that is what people want to discuss, they are free to discuss it. Just like the TV or radio, if you don't like whats playing, pick a different channel. If a thread goes downhill, it will get moved into the Backfire Board. I am not sure of this religious section you mention, I have been here 3 years and have never seen it. It is usually obvious what is and isn't motorcycle related in the quickboard, but if even that isn't enough, stick to the Xboard, 1125R board, Uly board, or Old School sections. 99% of the threads in there are motorcycle related. | ||

Sifo is pretty much correct. You can't start a thread in the Backfire section, they get moved there when the discussions get heated or otherwise off-track. It's not really a trash can; there is one of those, though, out of sight of everyone except custodians. Dan, of course, has been around long enough to know all that. rt | ||

It's due to cabin fever. Can't get out, nothing else to do. Our wind today is suppose to be 50mph and possibly over 140mph at the continental divide. What else is there to do??? We must put on our happy faces, no negativity. I'v actually learned a lot on the QB from lots of you out there. | ||
