Bold and New,NO......
Looks Ok....Not my GIG.
Still has Poor suspension....

Sporties are fun Bikes,Find one 10 years old(cheap)
Add good suspension,Cams,Pistons,A GOOD pipe(not a noise maker) and they are fun to bang around on...."JMO"

THIS STYLE WOULD BE BOLD AND NEW

$10,000 FOR A SPORTSTER?

Gosh I coulda had a Buell!

The fat tire is a nice touch for that retro look, it probably could still make a corner, but those effin' forward controls have got to go!

Actually, I like it. It's a Nightster I might actually fit on. I'd probably chop the rear fender more, but overall I like the package.

I would buy and ride one.

What I find sad is that both HD and Buell use the same parts and make variations on a theme but with a different promotional outcome.

Prior to the demise, Buell had three frames. From that for 2010 came the R, SCG, and SX (small frame), the SS, X, and XT (large frame), and the R and CR (loki frame). HD marketing couldn't figure out how to market the benefits of each of these variations on a theme and so said nothing.

HD produces the 48, while an attractive bike, not really that different from the rest of the Sporty line and is able to produce a 9 page paragraph describing it.

Buell produces the STT, which WAS different from every other model in the Buell line up, and the only thing they could come up with was "here's your Sharpie".

"Buell sees the bike's flyscreen and number plates as blank canvasses for customizers. "While the Super TT has a slick, competition-inspired look, the bike begs riders to show their inspiration for customization as these components can easily be personalized,"

Just goes to support and justify the belief system that HD was working really hard at not understanding their own product and marketing (or not marketing) accordingly.

Any wonder why Buell died?

I'm just thinking that there will be a good strong market at the parts counter in fitting that fat front tire to many existing Sportsters.

One thing HD dealers have a ton of it's used Sportsters.

I could see a "kit" for Nightsters to include forks, wheel, tire, handle bars, cables, mirrors, etc. to transform your existing Nightster into a 48.

I bet I could pick up parts and a used Nightster for less than $11,000.

Trying to move forward by living in the past.

Once again.

And drop the only forward thinking designs & engineering they had.

BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though I would rather build my own old sporty. And have. I`ll bet they sell.

But why do they refuse to put real power in their bikes. Whats that thing pushing 70hp at the crank. just a guess, I didn`t see any motor specs. other than "powerfull responsive ride" Hell put the old White lightning motor in there. Put it on a diet and it might look a little more appealing to us "Gear heads" in gritty garages.

But I guess looking the part is good enough for H.D.

Why would you want more performance?

Putting a 103HP motor in a Sportster is like putting a blown 454 in a minivan.

454 in a mini van, yep put a 454/4l80e in a Astro Van, ran good and still got 26 mpg before lowering and 29 after.
Why not 100+ in a sportster?

To do what, go fast in a straight line?

Why not just buy one of these for less money?

Your kidding right. No really your kidding.

YES 103HP in a Sporty.

Let the bike live up to its name.

103HP would be nice in that bike. C`mon just look at bikes on the market now that don`t handle half that good with more power.

Somehow I don't see a bike with forward controls and stretched out arms as "handling half that good".

Forward controls = bar hopper/burger getter.

If you want more power, the parts counter is right over here.

Sorry dont ride rice at this time.
My hope is to eventually buy an 883 low, then put a big bore kit on it after warranty is gone! Will it make 103, hmmm who knows but then a couple of GT15s could change a lot !

Yep thats the HD way more $$$$$$$$$$$$$
at the parts counter.

We just have a difference of opinion.

But really would more power be that bad.
103hp on that bike would be nice.

Besides they have the "performance Sporty" and it ain't selling worth a damn:

All you folks who just HAD to have one better get your butts into a store and buy one.

They are the biggest fiasco since the Rocker.

Big problem with the "performance" Sportster, I think its ugly in most respects, color, seat, handlebars. Sat on one and the only one guy who fit it was a guy 6ft2in tall. I am 5ft9in and it never fit me.
I bought the blast as I could not reach the ground on any other Buell except the 06 XB9 city cross. Other than an 883 low I dont fit a lot of other bikes and as for stretching out with my legs forward or laying down on a bike, I just do like it.
Oh well ill buy what firs when I get there with the cash.

Buell produces the STT, which WAS different from every other model in the Buell line up, and the only thing they could come up with was "here's your Sharpie".

Jeremy, I was at the homecoming event in East Troy when Erik was explaining about the marketing program of the STT. He was telling all the features and benefits it had and how it compared to the other brands out there, then he just said that all the marketing department could come up with was a graffiti paint your bike program. You could tell by the sound of his voice that he was totally pissed about that and I don't blame him one bit either! The STT was a great motorcycle screwed-up by a worthless ad campaign.

No actually since they actually made good profit even in 2008 and 2009 yet HD lost in 09, hmmmmmmm. nope should have let Erik put some buell magic dust on some
HD bikes and sold HD stuff too, but instead of keeping a profitable line and maybe even expanding a little, they dump it. Too stupid.

You guys are the biggest bunch of whiners ever.

I think the 48 bike is a cool looking little bike as well as the XR1200.

So how many different Buells are there?
Let's see the tubers, the XB and the blast, that's it. The whole buell platform was based on 3 core bikes. Don't get me wrong, I like buells, the S1 being my favorite. They have had the XB for years and then slapped a water cooled motor in it and that is it, it was the same bike repackaged.

You guys need to get over HD and the Buell cut, it's done, enought whining already.
