Building a chopper out of an new XB12R. They bragged about all the junk they pulled off the Buell to make it better. Like the belt drive and fuel injection. Showed everything but the engine/fork assembly laying in pieces on the floor and said they would ebay all the stuff they didn't use.

Having never done it I can't say for certain but does one need a torch to remove the retaining nut on the drive pulley? They used the belt to hold everything still while they torched it. They pulled the fuel injection for a carb. I think their intent is to get rid of all the electronics.

poor bike, poor poor bike

I always found them entertaining when they would talk about the performance of say a DODGE OMNI 2.2 Shelby like it was the pinnacle of motoring.

Oh I'm sure they made it much better by making it a carbureted chopper. Moron fags. How much stupidity can the world take?

Hm, so I bet them taking it from FI to carb must give them like 10000000 hp.

Both the guys are skilled. Seen them as part of Chip's A-team on Overhauling in the past. Just don't think bikes are really their things though.

Seems weird they go straight for a carb instead of adapting an hd fi system. If they eliminate the computer and wiring what about timing and ignition? Have a way to put a magneto on it? LOL

I would like to see dyno pull results with the carb and what ever laughable exhaust system they cobble.

In the end; I removed 2-guys from TiVo season pass.

Unforgivable...

Teeps, they don't need a dyno like the rest of the chopper heads. It's a chopper, it's gonna have tons of power. I will witness that raw power as I'm wheeling away from them in a drag race. All that power they're making will get them to the end of the track just in time to see me getting back in line for the next run while drinking a soda.

I would say bikes ARE one of Bryan Fullers things.

I haven't seen that episode and I can understand how some don't like a chopped up Buell. I may not like it either. That said, I think some of you are missing the point. It's a chopper! In my opinion, choppers are all about bare bones/stripped down and doing your own thing. Likely the reason for losing the FI and bolting on a carb. It's not all about being faster and making more power. It's about being different.

Dentguy,
Watch the episode.
It wasn't that they chopped an innocent Buell. As it was, their smug delight as they dissected a perfectly good bike.

Is the Fuller Fueller in the custom gallery the bike they built? I get that its a chopper and a chopper is all about bare bones but to buy a brand new bike for just the engine?

It is LH thread. They were probably reefing on it counter-clockwise first, I know I did.

but to buy a brand new bike for just the engine?

Unfortunately, given the pricing that HD put on the Buells on D-Day in October...there's no better time to buy a bike just for the engine. When else can you get 103 factory-reliable HP for this little $$?

Don't like it. Don't agree with it. But...to a point, I can understand it. To a Buell
outsider..."the bikes are begging for it".

i would rather see one get chopped and still have bits and pieces used on the road in someway than to see it in a dumpster like the photo that was posted a couple months ago of all the buells in the trash.

They are beautiful engines and looking on his site it turned out slick. It would have been a better show of his skills to incorporate the intake and belt. Truly make his bike stand out from an endless sea of long low rigids.

I've been doing one myself for over a year (as money is available),and it's not as easy as it looks. And it's very expensive!
I'm almost done with the mock-up stage and going into color (powder-coat and paint). I've had to build my bike several times and fight with other peoples ideas of how I should do this or that while doing my best to not be abrasive about it. Everybody seems to have a better idea.
I have made myself a vow to not do anything cheap or cheezy for expediencys sake, therefore more cost and more time.
I would love to post my progress in photos but haven't got the knack of sizing the pix I have to post here, someday maybe.
