my buddy cheech just picked that bike up a couple weeks ago to replace the bike that got totaled when some girl rear ended him back in december. luckily he only got bruised up and no broken bones. it was a shame cause he just paid off the 03 anniversary ultra. but he really likes that bike along with the wife.

as always dave, nice write up and great pics. sent the link to cheech.

lucky in the sense that he's didn't get major hurt cause he got hit by a full size pickup. not so lucky cause he just paid the bike off the month before. of course he had nothing but problems with that bike. mainly electrical and we kept on telling him to get rid of it but being the hardcore guy that he is because of the collection of bikes, he really wanted to keep it. infact, if you go back to H.O.G. magazine for after the 100th anniversary party, his plate on that bike which reads "cheech" made it in the magazine cause it came from florida for one. so far he put some accents on the tour pac, the blue inner faring and chrome fork lowers. other than that, there isn't a lot you have to do to that bike. he loves the way it handles. his wife loves it too. and for more reasons than one they call it bruiser. his other bikes are a knuckle, pan, servicar, shovel and classic with trike kit.

oh yea, his buddy snapon kenney has one of those first flh's in his garage.

Bluz-

I know that 19 is no big deal up your way, but down here it's extremely rare.

That's one of the big reasons why I live down here...

Today, for at least a couple of hours, we are supposed to hit at least 34F. We just had ten days straight where the high temperatures never got above freezing. That is pretty rare for here in East Tennessee in the "Valley".

Low 30s down to mid 20s & heading south later this week, this is virtually unprecedented for Brittany, supermarkets are running out of fresh & chilled produce, stuff just isn't moving in or out of the warehouses.

Coldest I've seen 3 miles from the beach was this morning... 31F with frost on the palm trees. 60F in the garage (unheated) it's usually 80F in there, worked on wifeys car Saturday and it was a nice 68F. We've had heat on for over a week, never had to do that before.

This weekend I heard that Mayor Daily in Chicago was complaining that they burned through 60% of the snow removal budget in December. They must really be hurting after the snow we had the first week of January.

Temp is 2*, wind chill is below -10* and my car broke down over the weekend. Haven't decided if I want to ride the bicycle or walk to work today. Either way is going to suck.

Ground here that sees sunlight is turning to muck as it thaws. Shaded areas were still frozen solid yesterday afternoon as I was unloading (throwing) flagstone from the truck.

Yesterday was the first day in 12 Central Kentucky rose above freezing. We're thankfully looking at mid 40's for highs the next few days but then they forecast another chill.
