It would be a lot easier to build a program at Tenn then at USC on probation. What is USC thinking? Maybe Al Davis was right all along.. Kiffin is a liar! BREAKING NEWS...the Knox county sheriff will become the new UT head coach, and he will be bringing all the Vol players under his care with him, that should really give them a loaded team next year. on a side note, he will be bringing in McGruff the crime dog to replace Smokey. | ||

This guy is nothing more than a shite-bag. Now with the move back to Cali, all he's trying to do is shove it in Al Davis' face. All the kids he recruited at Tenn. just got screwed by this a-hole. I got a good laugh at their Basketball team last weekend. Four of the "regulars" got busted over new years for smoking dope and carrying weapons.(again)  One of the local boys from Grainger County, who would not have otherwise been off from the bench but for the draftees situation, went on the court and won the game for the Vols, overcoming something like 100 to 1 odds of a tie.(due to the four high scoring draftees being ousted) They have had some kick ass teams in Football and Basketball. They seem to draft players that have mad skills and don't mind baggage that lands them in jail. It is sad when they interview a senior player and even the interviewer doesn't understand what they are saying because they blew through high-school on a pass, simply because they could run fast and do something with a ball. Hell, one of the Basketball players that got arrested bailed on his college contract and went pro immediately. I didn't hear the terms but it is likely he got a million + deal to start(as soon as he gets past his court case). Oh well, at least his bad behavior and inability to speak in sentences will be right at home at the professional level.  | ||

It will be interesting to see. In about 5 weeks both USC and Tenn meet with NCAA to hear there fate.... I believe Pete Carroll ran and ran fast when got some inside info about what could happen to USC. Kiffin is just to stupid and probably doesn't even know they are facing penalty. BUT, on the other hand. As much as i HATE USC, Kiffin got his daddy and looks like Norm Chow is coming too. Looks like they are all reuniting from the early days of Pete Carroll.. I hope the ship sinks, and sinks fast....... | ||

The AD at UT was an idiot for only writing in an $800,000 buy out clause in his contract. That's chump change. We got the same treatment at Alabama a few years ago while we were in the coach of the month club. Here's how UT fans react when the coach screws them: | ||

It's all about the money guys. There is no loyalty any more. If you offer me more money than this guy is, I'll work for you. I do believe it had to do with the trouble at UT as well. But if he thinks it's going to be any different at USC, he's out of his mind. These are college kids far away from home with little supervision. Been there done that... | ||

I actually disagree with you on this on Firebolt. Just in this instance. It is about the money 98% of the time though. Kiffin was getting more money at Tenn then any other coach in the nation when you count the money for the assistants. Kiffin was more loyal to USC then Tenn while at Tenn. He ran USC video on a loop in the Tenn locker room. He wont make that at USC. He has always wanted to be a head coach there since he was there under Carrol as the Offensive Coordinator. Yep, Kiffin is actually making less money in a place with a MUCH higher cost of living. He stated many times and many places that he ultimately wanted to be at USC. The deal came open. He took it. He took his dad and brother-in-law with him. THEY will be making less money as well. I don't fault the guy other than his word is worth less than nothing. Then again, he's a coach. It ain't like he's President or anything. If you REALLY wanted to work for a company but there wasn't an opening so you took another, would you turn down the offer at the company you REALLY wanted to work for? Sucks for the kids, but they probably would have ended up in prison anyway. | ||

He's being paid well enough either way. I think ESPN stated Kiffin had to pay back UT like $800,000 for leaving. Asked why this job might be more attractive than Tennessee, Kiffin said "Tennessee is a top-10 job. This is the No. 1 job in America." This comment I just don't get! You wonder why he had to get a police escort out of the building at UT the other night. | ||
