2010 is finally here so that the halls of Congress can be deloused.

Dorgan quit because of his support of the so called Health Care Bill. Rasmussen finds nearly 2/3 of North Dakotans oppose the bill and now Dorgan trails by 22 points.

Dorgan commits seppuku

The list goes on with Dodd. Hopefully, the message will reach other Democrats that they are an endangered species if they pass this monstrosity of a bill.

The Mid-Terms are going to be very perilous for the Democrats.

Brown is fast catching up with Coakley and has pulled into the single digits in Mass.

This is the seat vacated by Ted Kennedy.

Our Lt. Governor John Cherry announced he was ending his bid for governor in 2010, citing "poor fundraising efforts" for dropping out of the race.

What the headline should have read was he figured he couldn't distance himself from the governor enough to keep from getting blamed for all the economic problems the state is in.

Of course " Jenny The Mole" has been spending ALOT of time in Washington these days feathering her next den preparing for an Obama cabinet position.

Finally, maybe they will all abandon us and we can climb out of this pit on our own without their help.

Whatever. Do you think these moron politicians care if they don't get reelected? They get a comfortable retirement package and health care. They are laughing at us - suckers

It's cheaper to put them all on retirement than it is to keep them "employed" as legislators.

I can guarantee you that the aggregate cost of post retirement benefits for 100% of the House, Senate, White House, and Judiciary are less than $2T.

Term limits will destroy the lobbying industry. Can you imagine how much money it will take to buy a new congressman every few years?

Congress is a tough racket: average cost to campaign a US senator would be about thirteen million US dollars.
Senator's gotta raise $125,000 a week just to get his fine self re-elected.
THAT's a full-time job.

The Democrat's corruption & charting a course not to the publics liking ( per the poles, I'm not being partisan here I think ) will certainly cost them, BUT if you don't have Republican candidates that have good common sense, actually do the right things to make our tax burden & economy better, are honest, and don't go on a spending binge..... we're screwed.

Now, being partisan, I feel we are screwed now, and that the current crop is making it worse. I also think they will continue to make it even worse. If the next batch, no matter the letter behind the name on tv, is no better....?

So let's pick these guys we are going to hire, very carefully, please.

If anyone recalls, one year ago when Obama got sworn in, the media couldn't go on enough about how the Republican party was dead and that it would take 20 years for it to recover.

Thus, what we've had since then is them demonstrating their arrogance. They feel they can just push through whatever piece of crap they want without opposition. Unfortunately, the people who actually cast the votes are calling up the Dems as well as the Repubs and telling them that if they attach their names to these monumental spending bills, healthcare atrocities, etc., then they'll be out.

So, it seems like it's not 20 years, but two years. I think it won't just be a Republican sweep in the fall either. It's really going to be a sweep out of the incumbents. I wouldn't be surprised to see many of them challenged in the primaries because of all of this.

Anyone foresee a "Contract With America 2?"

It will take us 20 years to dig ourselves out of it.
Unless the Mayans were right.

The Mayans understood that the calendar cycles every 25,000 years and then starts over.

It's tough to carve those calendar rocks. They were just being practical.

Hmm...

The title of the thread makes me wonder if maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea. After the flying saucers get out a ways, pull the Independence Day trick and release the computer virus and the nuke. Just to make sure. : )
