Has anyone bought his Archives Vol. 1 yet? Specifically the DVD set? I bought the CD set and f*cking love it, but, I just learned that if you purchased the DVD set you get an mp3 card so you can download the songs onto your Itunes or Windows Media. Ever since that I've been banging myself on my head for not getting the DVD set.

How is the video/sound quality on Blu-Rays? I've only watched movies on Blu-Ray and didn't notice anything special about the sound. But Neil Young on Blu-Ray?! It has to be good.

F*ck yes Neil can jam. I seen him when he was last here at the Quest Center. Awesome gig, everything I could expect plus some. For being 60sum years old that oldie jams, big time. I don't think I was hearing normal for a week after the gig.

Only thing I can add about Blu-Ray is you most likely need a 5.1 surround sound, or more to get the 'full effect' of the Blu-Ray sound. I will add Blu-Rays sound is a bit better than a CD, it's not so 'tinny' sounding.

Does look a bit like him, minus the unshaven-ness.

Another reason Neil is one of the best. And to believe Geffen sued him cause of this!

A great source for live music:

These guys have the only recording I've ever heard of Grace Slick's first band "The Great Society".

Damn, Neil played an ass kicking concert here last spring, on a Saturday night, no less. It was his guitar tech, Larry's birthday and the audience went nuts when Neil brought him out to play banjo on "Old Man". A total class act, he'd let the (AWESOME) opening act, "Everest" use his stage gear. There were times during his set when Neil would just smile and back away from the mic during a song and the audience would be singing so loud that you could barely hear the band. I hope that I can be as cool as him (or Jeff Beck) when I grow up!
