I took my 08 XB12XT in to the dealer prior to Christmas. They are replacing the belt under waranty for a missing tooth.   I was looking forward to riding it home today, changing out the fluids for winter, and taking the front wheel to get new rubber. I got a call this morning that the belt was on back order till the 10th of January. I asked if I could get a loaner to ride and was told the rental fleet had all been disabled for winter. It's a sunny day and I really wanted to ride. So what is left for me to do today? dishes. I might ride the riding mower to the gas station for fuel and stabil. aghhrrats | ||

It's gonna be alright. My old XL500S is sitting next door in my neighbor's garage. He will let me ride it if I get too bad. Besides the rule on dishes in my house is it's your turn till they get done. It gets ugly if you let them go. Thank you everyone for the offers. | ||

Tom, the 09 belt, G0500.1AKE fits on the 08, and is superior to the previous belts. The 2010 belt G0500.1AKF has the same story. | ||
