Planes Trains and Automobiles,

I inspected the bus used in the movie, it was an old GMC 4107, I am thinking it had an "X" in the VIN.

John Candy Rocked! My favorite was Uncle Buck. Buck Russell, I named my Jack Russell after his character in the movie.

Jack-N-da-box

I took this at the one Jack-in-the-box that I won't eat at (and you shouldn't either) but I was out getting gas and remembered this last challenge. They are everywhere around here, most are very good. I'm hooked on their "two tacos for $0.99" deal. They have a great breakfast too. This one didn't even have a sign on the side of the building where the parking lot is but if you look real close somewhere on the door it has the name.

Next up. In the spirit of the holidays how about your bike in front of a Christmas Tree sales lot. You know the ones that pop up in an empty field or parking lot each year. They usually have tent or two and a chain linked fence. Bonus for a Santa hat on or near your bike. Double bonus points for a Santa's helper wearing the Santa hat. I'm hoping it's a hot Female helper but whatever works for you.

this is the best I could come up with, seems like there are fewer of these 'stores' compared to previous years....

BTW I'm pretty sure Santa's helper was fast asleep in the camper out back....around here, I might've been greeted by a shotgun if I had gone knockin'.....

Well, seeing as I've never contributed to this thread, and having been recently laid off, I thought today would be a good day to go out looking for huge Santa's...
Being daytime, most of the inflatable ones were deflated laying in a heap, and most of the hard plastic ones were only about 3 or 4 foot tall...

Rudolph looks drunk!

This one was pretty big, and awfully gawdy, but I kept on with my search...

Finally I saw this guy, the front door is about 8' so I figured he must be at least 10' tall.

So I found an ugly, big, plywood santa on a rooftop, and a big, blow-up Santa in a front yard.
Tepid, is this good enough?

If it's good enough, being a Jarhead, I'd like to go with a Marine Corps theme.
Your bike in front of a Marine Corps base, or a recruiting office, with a Marine standing by, or better yet, your bike in front of a Marine Corps Toys for Tots location, again, with a Marine standing by.
Bonus points if you can get the Marine to salute you for the pic!

I found this this morning, M.C. related to give you a smile.

LETTER FROM A KENTUCKY FARM KID (NOW AT San Diego MARINE CORPS RECRUIT TRAINING.)

Dear Ma and Pa,
I am well. Hope you are. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before all of the places are filled. I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 A.M. but I am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot, and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing. Men got to shave but it is not so bad, there's warm water. Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc., but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried eggplant, pie and other regular food, but tell Walt and Elmer you can always sit by the two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you till noon when you get fed again.

It's no wonder these city boys can't walk much. We go on "route marches," which the platoon sergeant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it's not my place to tell him different. A "route march" is about as far as to our mailbox at home. Then the city guys get sore feet and we all ride back in trucks. The country is nice but awful flat. The sergeant is like a school teacher. He nags a lot. The Captain is like the school board. Majors and colonels just ride around and frown. They don't bother you none.

This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing. I keep getting medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a chipmunk head and don't move, and it ain't shooting at you like the Higgett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there all comfortable and hit it. You don't even load your own cartridges. They come in boxes.

Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get to wrestle with them city boys. I have to be real careful though, they break real easy. It ain't like fighting with that ole bull at home. I'm about the best they got in this except for that Tug Jordan from over in Silver Lake I only beat him once. He joined up the same time as me, but I'm only 5'6" and 130 pounds and he's 6'8" and near 300 pounds dry.

Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry and join before other fellers get onto this setup and come stampeding in.

Your loving daughter,
Carol

How's that for mission accomplishment?
