I chuckled a bit every time they said "unobtainium"
They could have at least made up an original fictional name for what they were mining, like adamentium in X-men.

What the hell, why didn't they simply call it "Pandorium" after the planet/moon?

I saw it yesterday. Predictible as everyone said, but cool none the less. I loved it. I liked the giant dragon thingy too. I always thought unobtainium was reserved for Kooks headers, WesTek clip ons and frame braces, and NIB Race Exhausts though : D.

I was really hoping for an unobtainium crankpin and rods in the next-generation XB engine so they could up the rev limit to about 9k...

Huh.... I always thought unobtainium was used in penile implants for rich old geezers that married hot young chicks. Makes the unobtainable obtainable.

If they called it "obtanium," maybe they would have gotten it at the end of the movie. The "sky people" screwed themselves with that name.

I liked the Big Book of cultural awareness and language.... and how it was absolutely worthless once you hit the ground running.

Always fun to see a linguist thrust into 'military' encounter. We aint all Granola and Nerdish. On par with Plot to Star Gate, predictable, but the effects were great. Worth the price of admission.

Great visual effects. The 3D didn't jump out at you but added very good depth to the experience. As to the plot: Anti-Industry, Anti-Military, Anti-Human... but hey, they have an awesome health care program, lead was getting his legs back for free!

Just came back from seeing it a SECOND time (this time not on an IMAX screen but still in 3D). Every bit as awesome as the first and I caught a couple of things I missed the first time I saw it.

Just got back from seeing it in 3D,

A stunning visual experience.

Yeah the plot is a bit lame, Dances with Wolves meets Apocalypse Now, with various nods to other films.

The main Manager fellow was unbelievable, no company would leave such a crass imbecile in charge of such a project. (with the exception perhaps of HD)

Sigourney Weaver was... well Sigourney Weaver as usual.

The visual effects were breathtaking & I found the 3D very unobtrusive.

Maybe my suspension of disbelief threshold is low but it had a very "real" feel to it.

All in all I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

Maybe not one of the best films I've ever seen but one of the most enjoyable.

Just imagine they'd had that technology when they made "Blade Runner" it would have been worth an 11.
