well rather than lament over what might have been, I am wondering about what could be, and what that Dead Sexy yellow body work contained, (besides a fire breathing rotax)

I am thinking that the radiators are still split and that they are turned ala the race bike photos you see the air is run in side around the front wheel ( or as suggested by some under the head lights ) back through the cores, and out with a push away from the rider by a split off air stream re routed to carry the heat out.
I would love to mod my 1125 with that, the shrouds over the pods dont do much for me, a functional alteration that may Possibly be an improvement I get silly just thinking about it....

All we can do is ask if the elves can craft for us a "kit".

Wouldn't it be great to be able to retro fit 90% of the changes into your existing bike.

I think the blue diamond frame with a yellow body kit would be simply stunning.

Evidently there were so many changes to the Barracuda that a "kit" is out of the question.

I think we should take a page out of Carroll Shelby's book.

Take the frame from an 1125, call it an 1125, then bolt on as many 'cuda parts as you can. Might have to make a weld here or a cut here...but hey...it's an 1125.

Bad part is...it would cost more than I've got to buy one. : (

But hell...I can't ride the 1125 to its potential.

The word I got was that the 'Cuda was "substantially different".

The frames may have even been different.

We know the swing arm was.

I'll wager that the radiator is found under the seat like in the Nova and Britten bikes.
I would also guess that it's a smaller displacement engine.
Less weight overall means less power needed to make it scoot.

The Tornado Tre's rear seat gets pretty damn toasty with the seat radiator, though the fans look cool.

The word I got was that the 'Cuda was "substantially different".

that makes a lot of sense, the area back of the rider appeared to be devoid of any significant equipment, I doubt that other than the sub frame and body work much is back there. the battery and other items under the seat area could be forward and in the fairing area ( mass centeralization ) A member was making tooling to make complex parts for it things that could have been improved by having body work to cover them, besides the radiators.

I want to know were the black openings by the riders foot and knee exhausts for the radiators, I work for and have friends who are metal fabricators, I will soon have a 2 car garage to work in as well,

Can I just get a 'Cuda airbox cover for my XB? PLEASE??!!!

Even if it isn't a direct swap, I know I could make it work, and it'd be a sick mod!

: ( Still not happy... It sounds like the Barracuda was quite an evolution of the 1125, and not only have H-D prevented it's production, they've locked up all the ideas that go with it, and effectively handcuffed people who want to build it from making the bike become a reality (at least for a while anyway)... How can the people at H-D who decided to shut down Buell sleep at night???

End of venting... for the moment... : |

article in autoweek discussed how honda handled the closing of it's f1 racing program, a model not followed by the braintrust at hd.
they took the money it would have cost to shut it down and gave it to the f1 group, 700 people kept working and won the championship... seems they will survive on their own and keep working.

think about it.

Please share.....

The radiators I can see that the ECM and some other items could move the battery would still be under the seat I wonder if air could be moving across and out to help keep the battery and electroncis cooler, or of other locations could have changed for better RAM air, easier to access wiring. the mind reels.}

Yea, please share. Buell is gone. I don't see any point for the non company types to not spill the beans.

Buell is gone, Harley isn't*. As much as I would love to know details, people that got information under non disclosure agreements should keep their mouth shut.

* (Well, Harley is soul dead, but the heart is still beating and they are wandering the earth as some sort of foul undead thing, a corrupt shadow of something that once was great... Kind of like the ring wraiths or gollum or something...)

I'm referring to those that are not employed by HD or Buell. Use the "anonymous" option if you dont want your name associated with any disclosure.

Reep has it correct.
I've gotten a TON of work from HD this year, and I'm continuing to get more. 80% of our business this year has been from HD & Buell. And I wont further risk that work.

If Buell was still going to be around, I wouldn't have even shared as much as I have.

And I only know what *I* have worked on. I didn't even know what the bike looked like until I saw the "spy" photos.

So, no, I wont share more :-P
