Just wanted to say thanks to Tom for helping me out with some questions over the last week. He is a great asset to badweb and I wanted everyone here to know!

Normally I'd agree, but then you get something like this: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/519186.html?1259890106

In which case I have to agree with Etennuly's comment:

quote:

New memo;----- You suck! -----end memo.

All kidding aside, it is pretty darn neat to have folks like Tom, Chelle, Zack, Joe & others from sponsoring dealerships being active members here and an overall great asset to the BWB

Tom is a good guy, and a true motorcycle enthusiast. Of all the dealers I've bought bikes from, Tom is the only dealer owner I've ever seen actually ride a motorcycle.

"Tom is the only dealer owner I've ever seen actually ride a motorcycle."

It kinda cool feeling to see your dealer (Tom) pass you at the track.

And ride one to Suches GA to hang out with us at C3 Central. What a fun weekend that was. Tom is truly a great guy.

Yea yea I know Froggy, was running short on time and it was quicker. Trust me I felt like a retard trailering the whopping 150 miles.

Next year I wont feel as bad cause if I trailer It will be so I can bring both bikes to play.

Ian, sorry I'm not going to get to meet you.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to earn you business. I sincerely hope you enjoy every single mile if your bike!

That's cool Jeremy. I'm sure we will meet at Homecoming.

Ginger did tell me you had something going on in the morning.

I'm glad I'm trucking it home. There are some crazy mofo's on the road around here. Bout got ran off the road 2 times near Nashville LOL.

While I was in Tennessee, had a dude in a Ford explorer flashing his lights at me telling me to get over while I was doing 80 in a 70. Semi to my front and right. He finally gets in front and sticks his hand out pointing to the slow lane. I was like WTF? He got in front of me and did the EXACT same thing I was doing........ passing.

Best part was about 5 minutes later a cop going northbound on 65 flipped his lights on and crossed in the grass(I thought I was screwed because I was doing 80) passed me and pulled that dude over.

I love it.

Unless it was a badwebber. Then I'm going to DIE laughing. Lol

There's a silver Arai in Dave's office that is mine. You are welcome to it.

Take it out for a spin. Dave or Tom will give you a jacket and gloves to wear.

I've been to South Bend before. You need to go over and meet with the folks at the Tire Rack and convince them to carry motorcycle tires.

These guys really are great...the real deal.

Back in 1991 I was 21 years old, living in Memphis, married, going to school, and working two jobs. My wife and I only had one car, and needed extra transportation bad, since she needed to get to work too. Bills, books, and tuition were pretty well killing me at the time.

I thought a motorcycle was the best answer. Having no credit to speak of, and not much money, I figured it was probably just a pipe dream. Saving to buy one was going to take several months.

Bumpus Harley Davidson at that time was in a small building on Summer Ave close to where I lived. Even though I knew I couldn't afford one, I stopped in anyway just to at least look and sit on a few, and make "vroom vroom" noises in my head.

When I went in, the owner was there, and I told him I didn't want to waste his time - I was just a lookie-loo at this point. Back in the corner of the shop sat a forlorn looking Yamaha FZ750. I went over to look at it, and he told me he had taken it in on trade, and wanted it gone.

I asked if I could lay it away, and pay it off over time, picking it up once paid for. He looked at me, and said "kid, how much money can you come up with right now?" "200 bucks." I replied. "Allright then - you give me the $200, get it out of here, and pay the rest over the next few months." I was absolutely astonished. He decided I was worth taking a chance on, and did so.

Needless to say, I paid as we agreed. He even reported it to the credit bureau for me to help build my credit!

Bumpus is an empire now, with big stores all over the state. I personally hope that empire continues to grow.

I'll never forget what he did for me if I live to be a hundred.

Very cool story!

It's part of the reason I agreed to come sell Buells for Tom when he asked me.

I want to see Tom succeed and help him in any way I can.

The Bumpus' are just great folks.

Nice to meet you too Neil. I'm sure i will be needing help soon enough.

Tom, Great to meet you too. You got a really nice place, and a HUGE freaking dog. I have been telling my wife i wanted one of those for years now.... I'm thinking twice, lol.

I was thrown off a bit when Ginger told me to ring the bell. I thought it was 5 O'clock at the Stock Market. I rang the shit out of it!

Thanks alot, look forward to seeing you at homecoming!

9 hour drive is a haul? That's a normal night for me, 9 hrs of driving my 554 mile trip plus around 2 hrs of non driving time on duty.

Good times, where's the pics of the new bike?
