Slick I was thinking the same. Drifting is for cars.

Isn't this pretty much the same as Flat Track racing?

The way I understand it is:
Backing in is when your going into a corner and is because of hard braking and engine braking.

Drifting is on the gas and steering with the throttle.

"Backing it in" does not require braking.
Dirt trackers did it for decades with no brakes at all on their bikes.

Gotcha. Yeah you're right. I was talking about asphalt(roadracer in me).

I think when dirt tracking they are on the gas when entering the corner and inducing the slide with throttle.

I could be wrong. Doesn't really matter.

Pretty cool slide video.

We made a little track we rode 50cc road scooters on that had a "dirt track" hardpacked corner. Cheap fun.

This is drifting. Drifting is a term for cars. In which Ken Block is bad a$$.

Some streetbike drifting courtesy of Dan Jackson.

I'm pretty sure I've seen another one of his that has a lot more of the drifting in it, cant seem to find it as of right now.
I'll do some more looking.
