>>>Is that a side reflector attached to the rear shock? If so, that's just plain weird.

Looks like an Ohlins remote reservoir.

Love the bike. Power is a little low and the money is too high for me though.

do you mean the shiny, milled-edge, 1-1/2' circle?

Firstbuell, if you're asking in regard to my question, no, I'm talking about that yellowish vertical rectangle right behind the rear shock. If Court is accurate, makes more sense than a reflector. I've never seen/heard of such a thing myself.

If you want bhp then you wouldn't be looking at a Norton (or an air cooled Buell come to that) in the first place.

Norton used to make the fastest and quickest accelerating bike....back in 1971. Like a Sporster used to be a fast bike....in 1959. Geez, if we had to wait over 30 years for them to get back in production, they could have made it a modern rocket. I expected more, especially at $22K.}

Give them a chance. They've had the engine from a clean sheet of paper to production in less than 12 months. Garner said for now it is not in a high state of tune but is over engineered for the possibility of adding more performance later. And they've had to sap some power to get past stringent EU regulation, in particular with the exhaust design. 100 rwhp is said to be easily achievable, and that's a great start for a less than 1000cc twin cylinder air cooled effort.

I think they make up for raw power with handling and agility. Hell they sure look good, and you'd be the talk everywhere you rode to be sure. I'd bet that when its all said and done and the speed equptment is out there, that they will be able to make around 110 hp, mabe more if they take any ideas that make Jap's or Jawas or Westlakes so flame throwing.

You know.....a funny thing? I worked at a motorcycle shop on the 10 freeway in Redlands California, and we'd be in the front assembeling Quads and bikes or just setting in front between customers and faceing the freeway. There were two times in late spring od 06 that we saw two 18 wheelers go by that had gloss black and gold trailers (singles) with a vynyl of the Dreer Norton picture on the sides, way bichin looking trailers, but the thing was, these WERE DREER Nortons on the trailer pictures, no mistake...... I remember clearly. It so stuck in my head because that was about when Dreer was making final touches and about halfway from the rumor to production (if you call it that)......but I'll never forget seeing it and thinking wooyaaaaa right on, they made it,It's here

Hasn't shown much to date. Didn't the first time 'round either. Tho' in fairness, the old Norton ran out of money before they could properly develop it. We'll see how deep the pockets are of the "new" Norton.

Substitute a liter-class triple for the Wankel and I'd buy it!

They're currently wowing the Int Motorcycle show at the NEC with three models of the Commando. Up to date, the first 150 specials have already sold. Orders have been taken with money down at the show. No figures yet as they're still counting and the show's not over for a few more days.

Shown a new version Rotary they're aiming to race and put into production. Raced the TT this year with Robert Dunlop though failed to impress. Opened the doors to press at new purpose built production facility, Donington Park. Shown new fully equipped machine / engineering shop manufacturing in house components. What more can they show? They're up and running, manufacturing, racing, showing, selling, all in little more than a year, and they're solvent and owner Garner has used his own money.

I was referring to the Wankel-powered race bike, specifically.

You're trying too hard, Rocket. Almost Bueller-like..

Th Wankel was very successful until they banned it from racing over displacement differences of opinion. It sold well enough over here too. Sorry your comment was lost on me. And almost Buell like I think not. I'm nobody's fan boy. Just a realist.
