BWB members have helped a lot, just needed to hear some good old fashion positive people for a change. Between all the news channels gloom and doom, our US solider still having to fight over seas(I support them), 95% of the customers coming end are complaining about their economic situations,co workers being negative. I work for a HD and Buell dealership been with them a little over eight years. Sales mgr quit with only a two day notice F&I girl goes to a new full time job and is filling in when she can, Owner say I need you to keep everything in Bike sales moving smoothly, to that I say OK I'll do whatever needs to be done, bike orders wish lists learned F&I process, then to be told I'm working to much overtime(I'm the only employee in the sales department), by the book keeper not by the owner. I asked the owner if I could be compensated for the additional work load, he said will work something out thats been a month ago, I've been out of business cards for 5 months just having to hand write in on blank cards no biggie, now we are out of the blank cards, so I ask the owner again about business cards and I quote "just use one of the other employee's business cards and mark their name out and write yours on there", that looks professional I thought. Guess I just needed the reminder that I am above ground,my family is healthy, and my 08 1125R runs just fine.

Thanks to all of you guys

heres the key to the business card dilemna
Dont do it. I keep them for when I was away from the shop. But when I am in the store selling bikes. I never handed them out. Get the prospects name and info instead. Play it off. oh yeah, im the new guy, oh they are printing them, oh they changed the logo.
Get the customer info, name, bike wanted, stage of the CUSTOM process, a follow up number, but namely build the rapport and dream manage the sale already assume it.

You know Bob, things with Buell are changing really fast right now, I dont have a CityX in stock right now but let me get your number and I will rattle one loose for you.
The key here, is to rattle one loose, dont call him otherwise. (its just too pushy)
Hey Bob, you know that ride we were talking about? Well its here today and we have dry pavement, come on down for a demo (provided he has his license)

Its only a handicap if you let it be one ; )

Whatever you do, never say "it can't get worse than this".
Be thankful for what you do have and live right by others. In the long run, life will be good.
It's important to know that without the bad we would never recognize the good.
There is reason to believe the shitstorm aint over yet and now is not the time to let it get you down. I have stopped watching or listening to the news. Not because I don't want to know what's going on but because it seems more and more that all they are reporting is crap that will instill the exact feelings you describe. I just try to focus on my own little world, trying to keep it all together knowing that each day that passes, bad or good, is one more day closer to better times. I try to have fun when I can grab it and I have a relationship with God that is very real.

I understand what you're saying, E-man. Being in the news business -- and recently named business reporter for which I have no training nor background -- I keep looking for a silver lining.

My situation is similar to yours, but my coworkers work hard and are dedicated. That keeps me up.

When I find a silver lining, I'll send it to you. Meanwhile, I refuse to worry about layoffs or the like because there's nothing I can do about it.

That's ok. I'm convinced no one else knows what the hell they are doing, either.

The only thing worse is knowing what you are doing (and damn capable of) but not being able to get a job doing it.

Meh, spring will be here soon enough.

Your right, it seems everything is in mega-blaa mood. I think its time to forget the Buell fiasco, its caused so much contention, theres nothing to come of but greif discussing it, nothing but speculation, I think its time to get back to doing what we were all doing before this all happened, everyone was for the most part content and hooking up their Buell's with whatever accessories and riding, talking about the fun they were having. where's that gone? we still have the same bike's and still they ride and feel the same, lets get on with it and back to the fun part of it. Christmas will pass and then we'll just be thinking about the return of spring....

Do you want some GREAT news??!?
O.K. My wife and I are riding from Massachusetts to Homecoming, next June. Then, we're going to ride to Mt. Rushmore. After that, we're going north to Glacier National Park. After that, we're headed for John Day, Oregon for the Moto Guzzi National Rally. A good friend is riding his Iron Motor Sportster from L.A. up to Oregon to meet up with us. After the Guzzi rally, we get to ride across the U.S. back to Massachusetts.
It doesn't get much better than that; now does it?
