The battery on my Uly would fit, and its not even the small model. You could easily get a battery thats the size of a pack of cigarettes for it.

I showed to the rice guys at work and they all were drooling. It is a beautiful bike. If somehow it ever gets built, I WILL own it.

Purely speculative--no secret knowledge or insider details, just what-iffing. I know that some who have have gotten to know me may speculate if I have any knowledge at all...

Any chance Buell is becoming a BRP product? It seems that the contract settlement on the 1125 engine is remarkably close to what a possible leveraged buy-out of the company would be. You can shoot me for bringing the topic up again, but I'd heard of BRP's desire to bring back a Can-Am line of bikes; draw your conclusions as you may, but the mule pictured is even Ski-Doo yellow...

Okay, that last bit was a stretch, but is something even remotely akin to this idea a feasibility to anyone else? If Erik were a part of it, I think I could ride a Can-Am; I already have a Bombardier powered snowmobile, and at least BRP doesn't seem so enthralled with chrome-plating the planet.

QUESTION: Any chance Buell is becoming a BRP product?

Excellent question but at this time, based on the "nonrevesible decision" Harley-Davidson is just freeing themselves from association with Buell, they are wiping out the current and all future products, including one that is complete and ready to go to market.

Harley-Davidson has publicly stated . . . .

  • They have no intention of selling Buell
  • They have no intention of building Buell products
  • That Buell is "too integrated" although I could build an 1125tomorrow without one part from Harley-Davidson.
  • That Buell is "worthless" yet investors think otherwise
  • Harley, the good folks who recently, you may recall, "cubed" the BLAST are looking to attract younger buyers
  • Harley, the MADE IN AMERICA icon, is in the process of trading mangoes for the elimination of a tariff to import Harley products into India and had made noise about a plant in India.

Seem if you can reconcile that stuff . . .

Think of it this way . . . . you go to the prom. You are your date decide you didn't hit it off. Would you kill her?

Get me drift? . . . something doesn't add up.

If Erik went to Hysong, Yamaha or Gibson guitar they'd have an instant crocus of interested potential customers . . . don't think this is not a huge part of what's going on.

are looking to attract younger buyers

In their dreams . . . . not in their actions.

I'm curious...

Why didn't they Axe Erik Buell when all this went down?
