No, you don't need to lower the XB motor, but you still got to dismantle just as much to get to the rear jug to change the plugs.

I have seen the valve job quoted at $200, with the entire service being $400. I have read the threads on doing it, I know its going to take me a full day to do it the first time.

2k miles for service? Can I have your "used" oil? I bet I can put it back in the bottle and wouldn't be able to know the difference... : )

So far, at about 6000 miles on my 1125CR, I have only spent $60 on maintenance for it. : )

Why do people say the XB is better around town?

My XB would vibrate your teeth out at anything less that 3500rpm.

My CR is glass smooth around town. There is a more vibration at the higher RPMs than the XB, but in the low rpm range, the 1125 rules.

And the fun of the CR won't stop at 6800rpm. : )

The only thing the XB does better around town is WOT launches from a light. You have a 5% less chance of looping : )

I like the looks of the 1125R better especially with the lower fairing on it! But the 1125CR with the high bars and the lower drop footrests would be more comfortable for long distance riding.

The CR will not ping that is for sure. The bikes pretty much handle the same. I have both by the way. The CR with the high bars and I put xb pegs on it virtually sits the same the only thing the XB has over the CR is the touque off clutch . I actually prefer the cable to hyd clutch but I am gonna have to agree with Froggy on this now the xb is my classic.I always thought that it was the best bike in the world apparently its the second best bike in the world.
