"I feel jipped... all these sexy girl photos being posted and this is all I get??? Might have to start up the Beefcake Thread again... "

This is all you get, I was creeped out by doing this in the first place.

Here's my story.

This weekend we were working on the bridge reconstruction project I manage, near the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery.

We had a lane closure setup northbound and traffic was backed up a bit. In the distance I see a bunch of bikes coming towards us, then I noticed three buses directly behind them. Figuring they needed to get somewhere nearby, I decided to help out as I could, so I stopped traffic that was merging from I-395 south towards the northbound GW Parkway. This lets the traffic traveling northbound get thru the work area quicker.

So the first guy on the bike sees me doing that and yells "THANKS, WE HAVE THREE BUSES FULL OF WWII VETS GOING TO ARLINGTON!" and gives me a thumbs up. The following twenty or so bike riders also give me various forms of thumbs up and waves and so on. They are all on Harleys, loud pipes, vests, patches, the whole setup.

As I was waving them and the buses by, I could barely keep from bursting out in laughter and yelling FAGS at all of them! I did not say a word but it was hard!

José, 20 or so Harley riders are escorting perhaps a hundred or more WWII vets to Arlington National Cemetery, and all you can think of is how great it'd feel to call 'em all fags?

All the Harley riders said thanks, or gave you a thumbs up, or waved, or showed some other form of thanks and respect as they escorted their honored guests?

And yet you still wanna call them fags?

They had "loud" pipes? And vests, and patches?

Oh, my.

I've logged a few hundred miles on my Road King since all this silliness started, and have been lucky - no one has been stupid enough to call me a fag.

I wonder: If you're running anything other than the stock muffler on your Buell, are you (the proverbial you) a fag, too?

We could start a club. FagHaterBikers?

I can't imagine a life where I've got the time (or lack of anything more productive to do) to watch cartoons on TV. Must be nice.

And it must just fill all y'all with self-righteous high 'n mighty glee to have your cognitive powers dialed in so well that you can pick out the "real" bikers just from what they ride, or how they dress, or whether they've got an aftermarket muffler on their motor.

Flash: I ride a Harley, and I bet I can ride most of you Righteous Riders right into the ground.

And I bet I'm not the only Harley rider that can make that claim.

One of Buell's tag lines over the years has been "Different in Every Sense."

This thread would seem to contradict that. Many of you seem to be stuck firmly in the third grade (a trait that seems to be epidemic in this country these days).

But hey, maybe that's why y'all watch cartoons...

Jerry has a point, but why would you expect anything less than third grade humor on a South Park thread?

I am not judging, I am just sayin'

Hex, I've got more experience with Buells - and the people who ride them - than you'll probably ever know. "Get a Buell"? Is that the best you can do?

Cycleaddict, you calling me a fag? You're here in Virginia, I see. It wouldn't be hard to arrange a meeting.

You know; there's nothing quite like the sound of some jackass with straight pipes riding past my house at full throttle at 2:30 AM after the bars close.

for anyone here that thinks that jerry is full of himself, i'm here to personally account for his ability. i'm by far a great rider and just moderately alright but even the other people that were riding with us had a hard time keeping up with this guy on his roadking. he did things that gave me a pretty good pucker moment a few times. i'd hate to see what he could do on a buell or any other bike for that matter.

and on the other hand jerry, you are no doubt a great person and a great rider.wish i had your skills. but unless you watch this for yourself, you shouldn't be to offended by what jose said. i to am a vet with 40% disability and own two harley's and also up to 5 buells right now. i'm not offended by what he said because it was just a cartoon and it was humorous by all accounts. just the fact that he realized that something was up and did what he did says volumes for the kind of person he his. you just need to pull it up and watch it then let me know if you laughed or not.

Neil, thx for your props as to my riding abilities, it's appreciated. My point here isn't to inflate my ego. I've not met José, but I've read his well-written words over the years, have previously read Reg Kittrelle's praise for his BattleTrax skills, and have no doubt that he's a fine fellow and rider.

I am surprised, however, that all he could think of during the encounter he noted above was the urge to call them all fags, considering the worst "offense" he noted was that they had "loud" pipes and were wearing vests and patches. They apparently all showed their thanks and respect to José as they rode by with their escorted veterans.

You're right, I probably need to watch the SP episode. If I do, will I NOT then be offended if someone calls me a fag?

Thx for the post, Neil; take care.

I don't think José was hating, just bemusing about the South Park humor. Anyone who hates on folks because of their ride isn't worth my time of day.

My grudge is with the HDI CEO and board of directors, not the folks who ride.

i know you don't have no ego to inflate, you are what you are from everything that i've seen. when you get a minute, watch it. i've got a warped since of humor so to me it was funny and it doesn't bother me if someone came along and called me a fag cause i would know what they were talking about more than likely. so hopefully you wouldn't be offended either. and by all means, have a nice day jerry.

Neil, looking forward to our next lap over the Cherohala Skyway. Take care.
