How much should I expect to pay to have my tires replaced? I am bringing my own tires I got on ebay to my local (ex)buell dealer ... 100$ for both? 50$? I will have my XB serviced for 5k miles as well. Thanks Gianluca | ||

My dealer charged .5hrs labor per wheel, so that was $50 each last time, but that was also included removing the wheels and reinstalling them. | ||

dealers typically charge one hour labor per tire if it's on the motorcycle. Half hour otherwise. So it depends on your shop's labor rate. | ||

$30 each mounted and balanced is what I pay now. The dealer most of the time will not let you bring in your own tires you have to buy them from them. Most of the time they gouge the prices. The quoted for me both front and back Pirelli’s was $600. I chose to do it myself and have small shop do the tires. | ||

I had a new rear tire put on 10-10-09. It cost $319.72 and the service tech told me he gave me a "special deal". I did note that I was billed $90.00 to mount the tire and while he was telling me this I was reading the sign above his head that said "Tire mounting $45.00". The ticket cited 1 hour for $90.00 to install. Seemed pricey but I figured the other $45.00 was "tire removal" and I don't have it done that often. | ||

The last time I changed tires on my XT, it cost me $258.00 for front & rear Dunlop RoadSmart tires mounted and balanced. I have a NoMar tire changer and static balancer, and as my Dealer charges $80.00/wheel, I figure the NoMar will have paid for itself by next Summer. Oh, by the way, I do free tire changes for Buells and Moto Guzzis. | ||

Well ... I paid 211.25$ for a pair of Dunlop Q2 including shipping. That was quite a great deal. Heam ... I am still waiting for them to be delivered at my door, so I actually hope it will be a great deal. 600$ for a pair of tires is way out of any reasonable offer (unless you are installing top notch slicks). Dealer said it is OK if I bring my tires. I'll see. Thanks | ||

I have mine done by a local one man cycle, ATV and jetski repair shop. He charges me $25.00 a tire to mount and balance off the bike. He only mounts tires he sells but he discounts 20-30% off list so it's not a bad deal. He installed my rear wheel bearings for $20.00 (I provided the bearings) and he put my front bearings in for free when he mounted my front tire. He's a keeper. | ||

There is a Yamaha dealer in Beloit That charges $25 off the bike mounting and about 6 for the balance. He only mounts tires bought from him, but a rear Strada was quoted to me for $159. | ||

Local shop charged me $30 when I bought my Angel ST from him. Good guy and I trust him. Plus according to his Pirelli rep I was the first consumer purchased Angel ST in the USA. Didn't even have a part number for them yet. | ||

I agree. That's why I have been doing it myself. $200 for the tires $60 for the mount. Still more than half of what I would of paid. $300 still in my pocket for gas to burn on my new tires. | ||

My dealership if you buy the tires from them they mount them for free and charge like $20.00 to balance plus I get 15% off the cost of the Buell tires. It's just easier for me that way. | ||

I mounted my own for free with a harbor freight tire changer. (And scratched the heck out of my rims...) I guess you get what you pay for.  | ||

I buy Pirelli Diablo Corsa III for $285 a set shipped. I mount them with my NoMar changer. Just saw a deal on a set of Pilot Race tires...$199 for the 180 rear and 120 front. Not bad! | ||

My tire guy charges $10. I usually carry the wheel into his shop with the rotors removed. He even offers to get rid of the old tire for me but I usually do it for him since he's so cheap. His shop is also cleaner than almost every shop I've been in. I just changed my dirt-bike tires in the garage yesterday. I've gotten pretty good at it with just levers. | ||

i just payed $300 for a set of pilot road 2's and $35 each to mount off of the bike. otherwise its 140 if the wheels are on the bike | ||

I paid $15 per tire mounting for my Uly tires. That's bringing just the wheels into an independent shop for service. I would guess that wheel removal from the bike would add quite a bit to that number. My local H-D dealer was freakin' stupid expensive for just mounting a tire......I think they charge mechanic rates for tire mounting (like $120 an hour?) | ||
