I thought BMW has had prototypes like this for years.

Not sure why they would need the turbo version to hit top speeds, we already machine like the Hayabusa and ZX14 that have more power than my car, don't think they need a turbo version if they look around. Plus they can streamline it way better than a bike so drag should be much reduced.

It would be neat to have, but not 50,000 pounds neat. I would go $5000, but not more.

Cost is : 50,000 pounds, yikes. If they made a kit version of that, it'd be cool, 'cause there are gobs of smashed up sportbikes out there that would be cheap and perfect for conversion.......

I would LOVE one of those. I have a "suit and tie" job during the week. I can't ride my bike and arrive presentable.

This would allow me to wear a suit AND ride a bike.

I want one!

Styling looks like a late model horse suppository, though.

That contraption would be fun as hell until you lowsided or highsided it. Those damn outriggers won't do you any good if you happen to spin up the rear tire or grab a little too much brake while leaned over.

Even in a low speed drop, you're going to have broken plastic up the wazoo and how in the world would you ever pick it back up?

If they make it more sport oriented and seating position.... and in style of these... then it would get the nod over a smart car; everytime

The originals had a roof, looks like they changed that for the redeux

Just cut some holes in the floor ala Fred Flintstone and don't worry about the outriggers.

It reminds me of the "dust bin faring" I bet that it is a major handfull in aa windy situation.

the roof reminded me of an aircraft cockpit.

That's very old, about 15 years I think.
Based on a K series platform if memory serves, made in Switzerland..

it is very old, I remember watching that same thing on "beyond 2000" about 15 years ago. if you low side the outrigger wheel will contact the ground before the plastics do, I don't know about highside, it might just roll over and smash your head in. I also remember that below a certain speed the outrigger wheels will automatically deploy.

I googled it and apparently it has a 113 HP BMW engine, 0-60 in 4.8, 65 MPG (don't believe it) and a 52 degree lean angle, and the same company still makes this thing.
lean angle

"Would US law make you wear a helmet?"

If it has two or three wheels and by state is registered as a mnotorcycle...Your state law if you have one for helmets will require you to wear one.

Why not? 1, UK uses imperial gallons, so thats about only 57 US MPG, 2, my Uly with a bigger engine and Hummer aerodynamics can exceed that.

My Uly + streamliner body like that should be good for well over 80mpg, even with the extra weight.

Oh, and is that Jeremy Clarkson? He doesn't sound bitter, probably because there still was a British auto industry at that time : )

There was a grey one that did the Battletrax gig a few years back...two consecutive years if memory serves me right. He didn't win any medals, but made it through the course without hitting any cones...

Dude said there was an AC option...

Heck, Ft bstrd, you could arrive at work not only presentable, but cool as a cucumber!!!
