Obviously, I think Buells are fine looking, but I am baffled by posters on other M/C forums that say Buells are ugly. To me, all those "transformer" looking bikes are bizarre and unattractive. Is it the cheesegrater? |

The first Buell I ever saw...think it was an S1...I thought wow...that is unusual...then I got to thinking about it...once I realized the form followed the function, I understood. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and my XB is gorgeus. |

I hated the way my M2 looked for about the first 3 years I owned it. Then it sort of started growing on me, and eventually became a classic in my eyes. Kilroy |

I have owned a Buell since 2002. The 1125 series is not a good looking bike. Actually the only bike I have liked has been the S1, M2, and Firebolt. The uly is ok, but beyond that I would look to other way on anything from Buell. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it is a personal preference thing. The latest Sport rider mag I got was kinda funny in that they did a comparison of the Duc 1098 Streetfighter and the 1125cr. In the end they said the CR was a better bike, but the one reviewer would never buy one due to the fact there was not one visually appealing thing about the bike to him. I had to agree. |

I was just thinking about this today because I saw a post that someone thought the XBs were ugly. What?? They look bad a$$. |

Anytime someone comments about how ugly my Buells are, I park it next to my friend's Multistrada... |

the look is what got me into buell. i thought it was borderline ugly. and i liked it. i thought the 1125 series were ghastly. but now i own one of those too. are they ugly? that is a matter of opinion. are they different? yes. that is a fact, jack. |

Well...I think the 1125r is a bit rough without the lowers, the one I bought has the lowers and I think it cleans up the bike nicely and makes it look sweet. As far as the CR goes on the Trojan Horse website they had some different pod covers that made the bike look sweet. I like them all really, but again I think that if you have three bikes parked next to each other from different brands and you cannot tell which is which sometimes with custom paint you have to ask the owner, that in itself is enough for me to like my Buells....all ya gotta do is see that front brake to know it is a Buell. In the end, who cares if someone doesn't like my bike, I love it and since I pay for it, that is all that matters. |

jaimec, you said: Anytime someone comments about how ugly my Buells are, I park it next to my friend's Multistrada... i happen to like the way buells look, my s2 especially. (the water-cooled buells, not so much.) but, the duc multistrada is also a fantastic looking bike, imo - if someone thinks your buell is ugly, parking it next to a multistrada may yust reinforce their opinion. doug s. |

Well the XB lightning's are one of the ugliest bikes ever made. I lost count of how much i dumped into it trying to make mine non ugly, then I realized I could just turn it into a Uly. Problem solved! |

IMO: All tubers are works of art, especially the S2. Even though I own two, I have to admit that the X1 is the least attractive of the tubers with it's completely out of place aluminum subframe. XBR's are pretty bleh.. I've tried, but the headlights just won't grow on me, and I've never liked the R tail. I like the XBS's, but I also understand why it's one of those "love it or hate it" type of looks. The Uly is amazing. I don't know why, since it's so similar to an XBS in terms of looks, but I think the Uly front end is the perfect look for a modern streetfighter (even though it's not really that type of bike) The way the windscreen just barely drops below top of both headlights.. I can't explain it but that one subtle detail drastically improves the bike's looks. The CR is amazing. I get a little scared every time I see one from the front. Especially in all black.. that bike just looks wicked. The 25R has grown on me to the point where I'm no longer disgusted by it, but that's it. The pods I can get used to, but not the massive fairing. I know it's there for a reason - function over form - but it's still hideous. |

That X1 was the one tuber i liked because of that subframe. |

The tail on the S2/S3 are too big, however looks fine on the S2T/S3T. The alum tail on the X1 I agree looks a bit out of place, but when they are painted black with a black frame, they look fine. First Buell I wanted was a X1, blue race stripe, with the black plastic intake painted blue. Love the S1, like the looks of the smaller tank. Firebolt, front end has grown on me. Lightning, very cool, especially the CityX. The longs are ok, but if I had one I would want the short seat rails. Uly, very slowly growing on me. Not an adventure bike fan. Plus, I am short, so the closest I would has towards a Uly would be a Lightning with a Uly front. 1125R is ok, but with the lowers, sweet! 1125CR, I don't like the pods or tail. Add lowers and a Lightning tail, MEAN! |

About the only Buells that were not the best looking to me, would be: -The Uly. I never fell in love with it and its looks. -The Blast. -Not really a fan of the X1. The part tube frame, part aluminum frame didn't look like it was designed as a unit. I like to see the motor of a vtwin. The fuel in the frame is a neat idea, but you couldn't see the motor. I like the 1125R and the CR fairing. Both look good. The S1 was probably the best looking of all of the tube frame buells. wheels, motor, seat. The bodywork on the s2 and the Rss 12oo was fantastic |

So the CR is a better bike in every way but ugly. Sorry chump but I believe there is some bias going on. IMO The Duc streetfighter is just as ugly. I'd like to hear what he thinks makes the Duc look better. |

I personally think the Black CR is one of the best looking bikes made. I am in deep lust with it. I never really liked the looks of the Uly, and I owned one for 3 years. |

I love the looks of the CR. That's why I purchased one only a few days after I first saw it. My Uly XT look and design go perfectly with the function of the bike. If I thought they were ugly I would not have purchased them. I guess this is why they make so many different bikes. |

I don't like the look of the mandibles on the 1125 series bikes or the way they look without the stock exhaust on them. but when I ride it all of those thoughts are lost in the beauty of the machine and the way it handles. but as for the XB lightning.. I first saw that bike and thought it looked like sex on wheels! A naked bike without showing a ladder frame but a smooth fat powder coated mass of muscular bulk wrapping around a V-twin. still looking, and by god feeling nimble. |

I agree with the full fairing on the R. This bike should of had these from the moment released. It makes the bike The CR just looks mean, with the headlights, small fairing, etc. The pods look good on this bike. I love the R front fairing. I agree about the muffler. It does not look good with the stock muffler gone, and an aftermarket muffler on. If you put an aftermarket muffler on, it needs some sort of belly pan to fill in the space. REX |
