I had a dealer call me last night at 6:30pm to ask if I wanted to trade my Buell for a "bigger" bike. They happened to be associated with the dealer I bought my buell with. That's, I guess how they got my name and Info. .

I hung up on em.

That kinda pissed me off.

So I take it your not interested in trading? LOL

When a company calls me that I have dealt with and may wish to continue dealing with I'm generally polite. These guys calling have to make a buck too.

Now if someone calls to tell me I won a trip, my carpets need cleaning, or some other BS like that I quickly inform them what I think of them and their mothers. I know they need to make a buck as well but working a "boiler room" call center is not different then standing on a corner whoring yourself IMO.

So, Tramp ain't a wh0re......just a Tramp : )

Many are not happy with HD and wouldn't so much as purchase beef jerky from that company. Oh, HD has it's own brand of beef jerky, if you didn't already know that.

And the jerky is made out of leftovers from all them leather coats and chaps.
Well, that's how it tastes anyhow.

I hope my selling dealer does not do this to me, as it will be the first call I get since buying my 9R some three years ago. If they do I hope my kids are not around...

I didn't buy mine from a dealer, but I wish they would call me with an offer like that.
I'd tell 'em to take their overweight overpriced piece of chrome, shine it up real nice, turn that sombitch sideways, and stick it straight up their candy ass!!!

I constantly get snail mail from my local dealer since I bought my first Buell there many years ago. Never anything about Buells so the mail gets automatically pitched in file 31 with the rest of the trash.......and I probably should be riding a chrome sofa on wheels. NOT! Bob

I have bought many bikes from my salesman, and he knows I don't like slow bikes. I traded a Buell for a '08 Nightster from him, and traded back for a Buell in a month!

Funny thing, I don't get mail from my current dealer, but I do get mail from the dealer I bought my '05 from, which was the last Buell they sold.

Bikertrash05, that dealer wouldn't happen to be West Bend H-D would it? Those guys were useless!

I hope I get that phone call. I'll be sure and tell him how much I like the idea of a Victory Cross Country - not for a few years though.

My dealer's been nothing but good to me, even though the sales folk don't all get Buell. If they called, I would say thanks for thinking about me.

I don't like what H-D, did but my dealer has given me discounts on basic Buell parts since I bought from them. I have to support them in some way. (Buell T-shirts and hats, mostly.)

Back in I think '04 they had a "Buell guy", but that didn't last long. Just another dealer in long line of ones that didn't get it. Had the same problem with their other store that was across the street from me here in Hartford. I still would drive all the way to Hal's!

Sorry for the thread steal!

They dont call me; then again, I was the only one doing the calling when I was there ; )

If you got a call from me and you are on a Buell it was more probably a "hey why did you miss the Tuesday nite ride ?!?!"
Then again, that is why our local group had MySpace

my question to you is why shouldn't a motorcycle salesman call you? Just because Buell is no longer manufactured doesn't mean all motorcycle shops should be closing their doors.

If your not interested in trading, you should just say so and leave it at that. There is a lot of good motorcycle people out there trying to make an honest living by doing something they truly believe in. Selling motorcycles! I don't see anything wrong with that.

While I'm extremely upset that Harley-Davidson has dropped the Buell motorcycle line, I'm NOT going to hold that against all the rest of the motorcycle manufactures or the other people in the motorcycle industry.

Brunswick H-D said the same thing. They will support and service Buells as long as they are permitted to.

I don't see a problem with someone trying to make a sale or getting someone to trade their bike in.

But i see a major problem with that person calling anothers home and asking...A postcard or letter is the professional thing to do!!!

That's what I was told as well. They might be the most pro-Buell shop around, but they're pretty good. And the bottom line is I don't have an issue with them working on my bike, which is all that matters at this point. I know of at least two techs that ride Buells, one is a tuber, the other is on a Uly.
