It's fitting that they painted the ironhead olive drab since they are grenades on wheels. : )

That's an actual HD ad? Wow. Must have been done by the same company that did the "cubed" Buell Blast...

The "ad" was made by a friend of mine who rides the piss out of that Iron motor. To him, that Iron motor is the pinnacle of motorcycling. There are faster, better handling, or more reliable bikes out there, but nothing comes closer to conveying the total motorcycle experience for him.
He built the Desert Rat after he was sitting in a hoity-toity coffee shop and overheard two "Bikers" discussing how it was too far to ride to Laughlin from LA, and that it only made sense to trailer their bikes. After all, a stone might get kicked up from the highway and chip the paint!
Bill was so totally put out by the idea that someone would be afraid to ride a motorcycle because it might show signs of use, that he decided to build a bike that the more use it got, the better it would look.

I still have the laced wheels, solid shocks, fork gaiters and antique dash to fit.
This one I will actually ride. A real 57 ? Hell I cant find one running that I could afford.

From stock
Two into one exhaust
Solo Seat,
Luggage Rack
Larger 4.5 gallon tank (3.3 was stock)
Crashbar
Round Air intake
Howard horn (other side of bike)
Headlight nacelle
Repop Tank emblem
Custom Paint.

It adds up fast. I was going to do the motor... but looking at the cost to do that they way I wanted to do it... It made more sense just to get the Buell ; )
