Dear Fort Thunder store manager,

Over the past six months or so I have been receiving sales brochures from your dealership. In six months, one of those brochures has advertised Harley Davidson motorcycles, while the remaining dozen or so have advertised HD "motorclothes". I can't speak for your typical HD owning customers, but as a proud owner and rider of four Buell American Motorcycles, I have zero interest in your overpriced clothing line that offers very little in the area of crash protection and even less in the area of originality.

I couldn't help but notice that the models in all of your brochures are always a young, rebellious looking bunch. Stop trying. Your employer's decision to shut down Buell Motorcycle Company last week has cut many ties your company had to the younger demographic that your brochures are so obviously aimed at. I don't ride motorcycles because it's badass or because it proves that I'm an individual. On the contrary I would venture to guess that I look like quite the sissy when all geared up for the coming winter months. Layer after layer of insulation doesn't look badass on a 140 lb male frame, I'm sure of it. As for being an individual, I feel like the opposite has happened since purchasing my first motorcycle. I have become part of a brotherhood of riders that cannot be found elsewhere; a brotherhood that most Harley Davidson owners seem to thumb their nose at. I've received free lodging from a complete stranger 1000 miles from home, overnighted my own cannibalized motorcycle parts to get a rider in need back on the road, and met countless strangers that instantly became life long friends - all because we riders share a common bond. Until your company can adopt this true type of rider mentality, I think you're going to miss your target audience despite all of this flashy marketing.

In short, remove me from your mailing lists. I don't want to see another HD brochure in my mailbox.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. May you live long and ride free, or is that ride hard live long.. You know what I mean. We Buellers just throw the shocker to one another which is always worth a good laugh. You should try it some time.

Pk,

Aren't You afraid that You won't be Welcomed back to the dealership, and that maybe they mess with Your future orders at the Parts department?
Maybe this is Exactly Why We Buellers are not well received with H-D. We aren't as pleasant as the Harley crowd.

I think my letter was courteous and direct, albeit a bit sarcastic.

Fort Thunder is an HD-only dealer that I've gone to for Sportster (Tuber) parts and oil before since they are only 10 miles down the road.

And yet it's so well written, I like it.

We aren't as pleasant as the HD crowd?

I was using Sarcasm to Pkforbes87.Sarcasm and Humor help us get along sometimes.

Many of us know the feeling of being treated second class at the dealers Mercy when trying to buy parts for Our Buells. I do my own work. Done the way I would term, "the Right way", with none of the, "We couldn't find the problem", or better yet getting the bike back and the Headlights fall out. Yes it happened.
