Motorcycle-USA's Ken Hutchison reports that Buell Motorcycles make up a big part of the Harley-Davidson display at the Tokyo Motor Show, which makes HD look sort of stupid.

Again.

I’m surprised they didn’t force Erik to go, and just stand there weeping publicly while Harley executives bashed a couple of 1125Rs with sledgehammers.

But, maybe that would have distracted them from "focusing on the brand".

europe is still marketing and supporting Buell, ( at least HD Benelux will )

the new bike stock in europe is plenty for the whole off 2010

i expect this is the same for the overseas markets

According to MCN UK yesterday, Shaw HD sold 3 Buells last Saturday. Oxford HD selling naked 1125 for £6500. Manchester HD selling them at £5000. You might think that's a bargain. So I just called Black Bear HD and they're selling 1125CR's at £4730! They were £7830 last week. XB models on stock are suffering similar, all discounted more than £2000.

I'm sure all the customers who paid full price for their XB/1125 in the last few weeks will be a happy pro-Buell bunch!

Until the last of the showroom models are sold the bottom has truly fallen out of the used Buell market, thats for sure. Whether they become collectors items after that is open to discussion. I'm sure some of the XB range will, but the 1125 won't be remembered with any enthusiasn by many over here.

Well, a pound equals approximately 1.6 U.S. dollars ,so; at 6700 pounds you folks across the pound are now down to paying what we have been paying all along.

Hey Sean, welcome back.
Did you have fun with the titanium??

As far as prices go, I'm glad I have no intentions of selling Loretta.
Frank Skinner came up last week-end and bought a 2009 1125R AND an XB12Scg for less than I paid for Loretta 2 years ago.

If she wasn't the finest machine I've ever ridden, I might be upset.

Some have 3-4 bikes on the showroom floor but most are held in a huge warehouse in Belgium. Some dealers are still selling 2008 bikes new so there will be a few 2009/2010 bikes left for the next few months I'm sure.

The 1125 models have been a total flop in sales terms in the UK at least, so there are probably quite a few 2008 1125R models languishing in the warehouse. Unfortunately the initial poor press launch had far reaching consequences for the model here, as did the 'debatable' styling. It is only with the CR model that the UK press have started to give the 1125 any positive comments. Too little too late unfortunately.

Speaking of shows, if there is not going to be a Buell display at the Long Beach IMS this December, I think the Harley Davidson display deserves to be picketed!!!

I find it interesting how some people can call an 1125R ugly, but they think this rolling turd looks good:

Why the chrome on the exhaust?

The only reason I got the Ulysses is when I put the girlfriend on the back she asked about burning her boot on the muffler.
I asked her to look down where the muffler is and she said "Well then by all means get it!"

It had nothing to do with the handling, performance or ergonomics....
