Following shortly on the devastating blow about H-D's short-sighted amputation of Buell, I called Corse Superbikes in Saukville, WI to see if they had any Diablo Strada's in stock. I was then informed that Corse Superbikes will be closing it's doors for good as of October 31st.

I don't know what to say. I know it's only one dealership, but it is such a nice place, and has some really good folks working there. I remember when they opened back in 2001. I took a tour of the place and the shop was simply amazing, and I don't think it's any dirtier in there today than it was back then.

They also sell, KTM, MV Agusta, and Suzuki there. Before I bought my Buell, the Suzuki Bandit 1250ABS was one of the bikes on my short list, and Corse Superbikes probably would have gotten the sale had I gone down the Japanese path.

I guess motorcycle sales are down across the board, and that this is just yet another casualty to the bad economy, but it is saddening nonetheless.

One bright spot is that I read on a Ducati forum that some of the key players in Corse Superbikes may endeavor to open a Ducati only dealership. If this is true, I wish them well... I would love to see it, but I don't know if it is feasible in today's economy.

Our local area just got a Triumph Dealer.
I am extremely fond of that Scrambler.

Somehow one Ducati-based dealership closing doesn't tug at my heart strings like Buell as we know it ending.

Yeah, I see your point Fresno, but it just seems like the bad news keeps rollin'. I know that it eventually end. I'm not looking for an economic turn around here, 'cause I don't think that it's coming anytime soon, but it would be nice if the bleeding would stop.

I was there a couple weeks ago and found out. That place is awesome. Everyone there is very helpful. They even wanted to sell Buells but was denied. Basically, these days, the building was too big and nice to be profitable. Really too bad.

Dang I have yet to get there. May need to on my way home Monday. The people there, I have heard, are great people and was considered one of the best dealerships in the state period. Really too bad I thought them adding Suzuki years ago would have helped them stay alive.

Those folks are true motorcycle guys. They didn't care what you rode, as long as you rode.

They let me take a 848 for a test lap knowing damn well I wasn't going to buy it. Why? To let me get a feel for Duc.

I venture up there a couple times a year, I'm going to miss them.
