When I first got the news I felt like most of you - Sad - P***ed - Abandoned - Rejected - . . . While working on 3 fingers of cheap rum last nite came to a different conclusion. HD dropped a model - THAT IS ALL THEY DID Lots of cycle manufacturers drop particular models. For as long as HD continues to supply parts we are OK. Discontinuing Buell might or might not be a wise business decision BUT it really does not affect our lives. It does assure that I will never buy a new HD because the rest of HD's present lineup has no appeal for me (suspect that is true for most reading this) but their decision does not really hurt us. |

Dropping the blast! Was dropping a model. Dumping Buell is dropping an entire brand, and lots of good people are out of work now. We as Buell fans are being dumped by HD, and we'll not get to see what might have been from the mind of Erik. Not to mention Buell being in the AMA this year really turned me onto motorcycle racing, and that has been taken away too. I wanted to get into racing myself, on a Buell, but the support for the race parts is gone. If I still do the amateur racing, I'll most likely do so on another brand. |

Don't give up so easily, look at how much support there is on this website, and believe it or not, there are many others out there that don't visit this site that are supporting EB as well. Perhaps in HD's collective mind they are "only" dropping a model, even if it's a model line, not a model. We have already decided our perspective is that it's a short sighted plan. But they will have to supply parts as Louis and many others have said, so we can support our sponsors (enthusiastic HD/Buell dealers, supporters, and aftermarket suppliers) by buying Buell parts from them. I think it will be okay. That's just my $.02. |

The only parts HD supplied were the engine and trans in the air-cooled models. How are they going to reliably supply parts they didn't make and for a brand they didn't care much about? It is too early to tell right now but Buell disappears into the wind I don't have much faith in HD supporting it after 3-5 years. Have looking for frame pucks, isolators, exhaust servos/cables, etc. |

Having a CR, I am worried about getting belts since it has a belt not used on any other model, and the CR was basically only made for one year since no one has seen a 2010 model. Then there is the Helicon engine. God help me if I need parts. It's an engine ONLY used by Buell. The ZTL brakes....will the aftermarket abandon making pads dooming us to the stock pads? In the past several days, I've been more concerned with the company, it's vision, and it's employees. It wasn't until today that I really thought about how this would effect me. My problems are really minor in the face of people losing their livelihood. |

They'll make parts available for 10 years. You're fine. |

Yeah...the parts will be available. But how long will it take you to get them and what will it cost? |

We should be good on EBC brake pads. Have you read there parts master catalogue. Lots of old bikes in are in there. I just ordered a set of EBC HH for the 1125. I cant wait! Only $37 bucks for a set of fronts. |

We have time to stock up on parts to carry us thru for several decades. We have an advantage that the Indian BSA Triumph Norton Royal Enfield and most every other rider that had his manufacture shut down. When they shut down they were done on that day there were no more new parts just what was in stock. We should have several years to figure out what every model needs down the road depending on how you ride and how far you ride. We also have this Forum, I won't have to rely on just what I discover I need when I need it but what every other rider with a bike like mine has discovered, kind of like being in the Borg. |
