As Buells engine supplier, Rotax has to know what HD's plans are.

Who owns the Helicon? Rotax or HD?

How many Helicons is HD committed to purchasing?

If the contract has not been fulfilled:

A: will you see Helicons in HD branded sportbikes soon?

B: Will Rotax get a big check from HD to buy out the contract?

I thought it was stated that part of the huge cost of closing Buell was that Harley had to buy out of the contract with Rotax.

So, if and when Erik is in a position to produce another bike, the Rotax engine is a viable option?

Sweet! A do-over! Nice of Harley Davidson to fund the production prototype, think how good the Elves (including the honorary Austrian ones) can do the second time. : )

B.

Over 100 million dollars.

"So, if and when Erik is in a position to produce another bike, the Rotax engine is a viable option?"

I'd say sure, but it won't be the 1125. I'd love to see EB go out and work with BRP and Rotax on a new Buell.

Why stick with an engine that's already 2 model years old, and probably will be 4-5 years old by the time a new bike is produced? I'd imagine contractually it would be pretty difficult as well.

I look forward to great things.

Why not a Pegasus Motors V4 designed by Rotax?

A V4 1000cc for Superbike
A V4 600cc for Sportbike

A "Tuono" V4 for me. : D

Aprilia is having some spectacular success with the RSV in WSBK, and the Ducati MotoGP engine is a V4 design, too. I like it a lot, and think it could provide the best combination of HP & torque.

Even better, a twin rotary engine : )

I hope he goes out and sticks it to HD. This whole situation has soured my outlook on HD. They are outlaying a ton of cash, probably more than they would use to run Buell for the year just to close them. Something or someone is screwed up. Who is the new smuck running HD. Maybe he needs to be run out of town and not Buell.
