While it is true other than my new Buell if all goes well I will never purchase a Harley product again. I must say I am not to worried about Buell and this is why. There is no shortage of 1950's/60's/70's Nortons Triumphs Velocettes There is no shortage of old Indians Harley's Hendersons And look at the Vincients There is no shortage of Parts for all of them either. I know I know they were not so dependent on technology Well neither was the world back then the ability to make high tech parts was not there, now it is I think we might have a harder time trying to get an old school Carb then an ECM made So The main concern I have for Buell is the jobs that are lost and Erik not being able to live his dream and us not seeing the evolution of the greatest motorcycle ever made |

Brumbear, what you've just stated is one of the primary reasons I bought a Buell in the first place. I can do the work myself & the parts are either readily available or adaptable. I thought long & hard about buying the XB for the same reasons. The main stumbling block was the electronics, then I found out with a free download & a cable I'm not beholden to a disinterested Harley dealer. I celebrated my Buell today by going on a 300km run with some guys here. |
