That depressing time of year is near in Wisconsin. Sunday the 18th will probably be the night I put my bike in storage. Seeing as it gets so cold up here I will remove the battery and keep it cozy and charged in my house... When is your last ride? Where do you live? Hopefully this will be the last time I do this!!! Albany area of New York, I generally ride halfway into November, and if we're lucky it'll come out about once a month until March when regular riding resumes. If it's above freezing and sunny, the bikes comes out. | ||

Columbus, Ohio The Polar Bear Ride is Jan. 1st and can be the last ride of the year depending on the weather.... It can be dicey getting out of my driveway. Once it has a coat of snow it almost never melts off until spring. I try to put a few miles on every month of the year just because.... because I'm stoopid... The days start getting longer in 3 months... or so... WOO HOOO! | ||

We'll be heading out this weekend, hopefully both Sat and Sun. We try to get out at least once every month as long as there's no snow on the roads. Heated gear works real well. Bikes on kept on battery tenders and if it's nice out, we're riding. | ||

Sorry guys and gals...but the best riding is yet to come way down here in Flawda.. It's going to be in the 60's in the mornings this coming weekend...with highs in the 70's...been waiting for cool weather all summer... | ||

The horror! Sure, sometimes you have to take a day or two off for fear of drowning or catastrophic instantaneous rust, but I'm grateful that the PNW has no true "off" season. | ||

LOL! Best riding and Florida don't belong in the same line! Upstate NY, just got home from work, it is 42.3°, the last few nights have been colder. It was so cold the other night that my low fuel light didn't work on my 1125CR. DAMHIK.... I will put it away for the winter whenever the roads become a solid brick of ice, then I will buy a Ural with 2wd and keep on going  | ||

Only time the bike stays parked for extended periods is when I'm travelling out of town or the roads ice over. The trade off is that it gets H O T during the summer in TX. | ||

No last date for riding in Virginia. I'll ride most days that the high reaches 35 or more and the lowest temp I've ridden at is 23 degrees. Of course, I ride mostly short commutes, but I did a 42 mile ride last January in 28-degree freezing rain. That was interesting. Gotta have the right clothes. And, if the roads are wet and the temps down, I stay at home. Can't wait until next June. Looks like the scenery around Va/NC is going to get a whole lot better! Where you moving to? | ||

Hey Char, see if you can find work here in NC the coastal area is riding pretty much year round for heary folks, not much for twistys but the ashville and franklin are about 6 hours away. it was 68 and rainy this evening. being the wuss I am I caged =) (Message edited by oldog on October 14, 2009) | ||

Had my last ride a week ago tomorrow, had trucked her down the east coast to the beach, last Friday was 83 degrees and sunshine! Drove back up north on Saturday and unloaded her. It snowed day before yesterday here in the Adirondacks, game, set, match... battery tender engaged till spring... | ||

since global warming works to good down here in fla. riding is year round if you don't mind the occasional rain.(have rainsuit, will travel) it's a shame that global warming hasn't reached the north yet. |
