Last Sunday, Terri and I went on a Benefit Ride put on by a non-H-D dealership. It cost $25.00/couple, and when you signed up, they gave you two sheets. One was directions, and the other was a map with the route highlighted. You got to ride at your own speed, and with whoever you wanted to ride with; or, if you preferred, by yourself. The ride ended at a B&B on a mountain for some really good food.
I hate riding in a large pack.

Now THAT'S a good group ride. The group should be at the beginning and end of the ride...not during.

Its been a while since I was active in a HOG chapter but in both the chapters I belonged (Indianapolis and Miami) I met good friendly people and participated in good (often charitable) activities.

The Miami chapter had (has?) several retired motorcycle cops as members and they and other volunteers put on a monthly skill sessions free to any member. The sessions were similar to an ERC course combined with the Ride like a Pro video drills. The Miami chapter also had (has?) a drill team that was top notch.

I do admit to shying away from the large group rides after observing some near misses and a minor clip on one of the rides.

I got alot of friends who ride with HOG and they won't ride with me it isn't what it sounds like they want to cruise and I don't its that simple really so I don't bother anymore. You can feel free to ask anyone who has ridden with me I just like a brisk not an insane pace . The cruiser motorcycles can not handle what we do on group rides well if at all and we break it up into"micro groups" of 5-6 machines when possible makes for easier logistics so to speak when your moving at a brisk pace and a brisk pace it usually is.

I liked riding in parades.

And I liked riding from Hal's to the museum. But mostly I ride alone.

I have the same shirt. I love to wear it to bike nights.

Sorry I know not a sponsor but it is just a t-shirt:
