Ironic. I had Geico from way back, even before they offered motorcycle insurance. The irony, when Geico did start to offer motorcycle insurance, they wouldn't insure my XB9S. (since it was a first year bike) | ||

Exactly, Toona. I took Danny's comment as Marty getting hurt and the heads up battle was ended prematurely--not a statement about anti-Buell bias. Again, Danny had the class act going again by coming back up to the mic just to give a shout out to Martin. I get the feeling that he doesn't have the warm and fuzzies about Herrin. | ||

From what I've seen and heard, Danny is well-like by darn near everyone in the paddock. | ||

It was particularly moving to me, as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies were awarded following the final race, to hear all three of the riders on the podium go out of their way to compliment Danny Eslick on what a gentleman and fine rider he was. They could have gotten by simply congratulating him on his championship, they went much further and it was really heart warming to me to see Buell so capably represented. He's respected and liked as a person and a competitor. | ||

Yup, Danny was talking about Martin missing the NJ round. Everyone, including me wanted to see it decided at the track. | ||

I think they get on fine, co-celebrating on the track and podium and such. You very well may be right. However, at the post race press conferences, I have seen some body language things and comments--or lack thereof actually--that just give me that feeling. | ||

After the victory lane stuff at mid Ohio on Sunday, Martin and Danny were riding the same golf cart back to the hauler area. They were talking and laughing as they went by us. Danny is a racer, and racers wanna beat the best on the track. |
