you hear some of those, but seeing them written - it's weird. Vim (as in vim and vigor...)

you have a strange study guide!

I have never heard those words before. All I know is I should avoid playing scrabble with you.

Hahahaha . . . come on down! I just got an official offer from Columbia today to start teaching a class in January. I'd love to have you in my class!

: )

Start practicing words like "corpus dilecti", "Voir Dire ","res ipsa loquitur
" and "de facto".

I'd let you drink in class and you could organize protests! You'd be a hit!

I just got an official offer from Columbia today

Hopefully you will get an offer in this country soon

Sorry Court, I have been dying to use that since I saw it on TV.

Good luck Whatever, I found the GRE was much easier than the GED. Go figure.

Lynn completes her MA this term and I am so proud of her. Another funny thing is we are both unemployed at the moment. LOL

Frank:

That's hilarious . . . I set myself up for it!

Hey . . I heard an old, but good one today . .

quote:

Kid goes in thinking about buying a condom . .

Kid: "how much?"

Storekeeper: "$1.00"

Kid: "I'll take it"

Storekeeper: "That'll be $1.05"

Kid: "I thought you said $1.00?"

Storekeeper: "A dollar for the condom, a nickel for the tax"

Kid: "Just give me the condom and keep the tax . . I'll roll it on"

Court, congratulations. I presume it won't be some touchy feely course.

"The Science and Art of Countersteering", maybe?

Does this mean it would be prudent for you to cool your jets on Badweb because Big Brother is watching?

Charlotte, I wouldn't say I use them on a daily basis, but most of those words have been in my vocabulary for many many years.

Caret, is the only one not within my realm of cognizance. I was sufficiently intrigued to warrant the research, & am now enlightened.

English is a fascinating language.
Aren't you all lucky we let you use it.

Hahahaha . . scary part is it's where Obama and Eric Holder graduated from.

I'll be in the same Engineering Department (Fu School) where some NEAT things have happened.

We'll see . . I have until Friday to accept the offer and we have some negotiation ahead of us (can you say "parking" and "library" privileges) so we'll see.

Hm...does "parking" mean a bigger office door so a Uly fits through the opening?

I've been debating going back to school...would you take a guy with a BA in journalism and a BA in fine arts production? Why start working towards a specific goal this late in life? LOL. (and I'll bring enough singlemalt to share with the whole class - and the staff - don't worry!)

On a more serious note, though...I'm guessing you've taught before? I have. I taught for five semesters, starting about 3 years after I graduated. How depressing. It was only a 300 level production class - not NASA by any stretch, just designing/building sets, designing audio and lighting and seeing a production through from beginning to end - but I shook my head every single day when I was bitchslapped with the "level" these kids were brought to. I fail to see how a human, regardless of specialty or desired career, could reach their early twenties and not know how to properly use a hammer, what the term "screw gun" means, and not know how to program a digital lighting console that's easier to use than an Xbox. <sigh> Just prepare yourself if this is your first foray into the world of shaping young minds. When you find one (and I, literally, found ONE of my own throughout the five semesters) and you hit the mark, and you see the realization and enthusiasm dawn on their face....it's the best feeling in the world. The rest is just...depressing. Hence, "I taught", not "I teach".

Aw Court. I was hoping you could get me into Law School!!!

Plan A: get a real job and freeze my a$$ off in Wisconsin. (Have over 150 applications out, 80% rejected already).

Plan B: Get an MA in Environmental Policy. Find a gov job after that (hopefully Wilmington or Chapel Hill, NC).

Plan C: Continue with school and get a law degree and make some money.

I am looking at A: no debt B: 20k to 30k debt C: 40k to 60k debt.

So I am working on everything all at once...
