That's truly sad on all counts, 1, that someone could even consider painting their nails when bearing the responsibility of driving and 2, that the woman's life lost is only worth five years in jail. And she'll probably end up only serving a fraction of that. | ||

Sit at a light and watch traffic go by and see how many drivers are doing something in addition to trying to control the vehicle they are driving. The number will amaze you.... | ||

She ended the life of a 56 year old for the sake of her finger nails......... Breathe...2-3-4 She should have those finger nails ripped out every time they grow back for the next 40 years or so (the years she took from the rider) to remind her of what she did. 5 years sentenced equates to 1 served or there-abouts. It isn't nearly enough for the crime committed. Willful negligence should NOT be treated the same as a simple oversight behind the wheel. Too many people take driving too lightly. I see them reading, texting, typing on their lap-tops while driving all the time and it chafes my a$$ | ||

I know I wouldn't want to have to serve time because I killed someone else in a traffic accident that was purely an accident - avoiding some other catastrophy, making a bonehead decision having to stop in an inpportune place, etc. But doing her nails? I think if you kill someone in a traffic accident and they can prove that you were doing something other than driving, it should carry some level of homicide on it. | ||

A friend of my neighbor was invited on that ride. He says he always rides at the back of the group with them. Had he gone that day it would likely be him that was killed. Pretty messed up stuff. | ||

You're right Odie, my office's lobby is on the second floor and overlooks a city street about three doors down from a light. It is amazing at what all you see, or don't really want to see. |
