Way back in the early 90s before the age of gsm phone's & satellite tracking, those drivers of the company I worked for used to meet up on a weekend. Depending which area you were in, you knew where to find some of your mates. If N/E Italy we used to go to Rimini, & line the trucks up at the top of the beach. The local supermarket manager came down one saturday night with a bottle & an interpreter, because he was fed up with us stealing trolleys from him to use as barbecues. So he made us a deal whereby we dropped the burnt out trolley back next to the store sunday night, & he'd keep it on one side & load it up with broken pallets for next weekend. A good businessman, the other stores never got a look in afterwards. Only difference from the pic is that we used to chuck the trolley on it's side on the beach & make the fire inside. Ah happy days, from the golden age of trucking, sadly nearly all gone now, too many rules & regs, & too much office overview . | ||
