The only boots I have right now are the old Buell boots, which is more of a touring boot. When I get into track riding next year, I want something with better ankle protection, toe sliders etc.

I'm thinking I like these from TCX, but would like to hear what others have and are using.

Here's the tcx boots-- http://www.newenough.com/boots/racing_boots/tcx/co mpetizione_s_racing_motorcycle_boots.html

Alpinestars SMX

Crash-tested heavily a half dozen times - replaced 3 times but they have done their job.

I've really enjoyed my AStars SMX boots. They were comfortable from the minute I put them on.

If you are willing to spend a little more (like money is no object), I HIGHLY recommend Vendramini.

dainese torque is a popular boot over here, 2or3 friends of mine have em

I have Astar SMX plus, good sturdy boots, but they take a while to put them on; first the shoe laces and tuck them in, then the zipper, then the ratchet thingy.. cumbersome. the dainese my friends have have one big velcro patch which makes them easier than mine to put on/off

I have Sidi boots, love them! Watch out, apparently I am the only Italian with big wide feet, so I had to order a wide model and then still go a few sizes up. New enough was great : )

Gaerne GRS when wearing the blue/black/white one-piece leathers, Oxtar EVO Ti when wearing the red/black/white two-piece leathers. I'm equally impressed with both, but the rear-zipper design of the Gaerne is superior to side-zip in my opinion.

I've read that about the sidi boots being narrow. The tcx seems to be a bit wider.

Regarding Eslicks boots, I actually think the white is kinda cool, and i'd love to hear if anyone has puma boots, I'm really curious about them too. A busted up ankle could cost me weeks of lost income, so spending a few bucks more to say "I'm as protected as I can be" is worth it to me.

I have those boots...

I actually can wear them when not on the bike and walk around comfortably in them.

In fact, I used them as part of the Batman costume from Halloween last year...I think they are comfy.

Competition S series I believe. Same as the ones you linked.

I paid a lot less than that though last year.

Anyways, I wear a 10.5 in Puma shoes, and most Puma's I wear seem to be a little narrow and fit very snug on the width area anyways.

I ordered the TCX Competition S in a Euro 44 and it fits well. Like I said, I wore them around for like 6-7 hrs to the bar, at a house party, on my feet most of the time and it wasn't a problem for me. A little stiff, but that's because of the supports and is expected. Overall, I'm happy with them.

I think I paid around $250 for them or something with free shipping from Motosport.com

Sidi's

Got to rock them with a good sock...

Tube socks in a pack suck for them IMO

a Cool-max sidi,alpine-stars, thinner Ski and even dress socks work well in a pinch..

I think it just maybe because tube socks are bulky and most don't have the bend so you get extra material...

Alpinestars SMX. No laces on mine, just zipper and velcro.
