Via the twistiest road from murp to Charlotte, got some folks I need to see on the way home. Goal is to get to huntersville saturday pm, do church and lunch, split for home sunday early PM avoiding the slab and preserving the tires. Jeremy, The "gecko" hooked me up last night, the bike is insured as of 800am tomorrow, my only issue is that tags and taxes when I get home. my insurance for both bikes is under 1k per year and the payments up some but not too bad I am going to get a hand full of small items from the "garage" [ bin ] for the GPS mount, wheres reepi when you need him (Message edited by oldog on August 28, 2009) |

I called Jeremy earlier tonight, I am home safe and wanted to bump this. the '25 is totaly awesome.. there were 3 or 4 there when I picked up mine. If you want one NOW is the time! The '08 specials are full waranty with additional coverages available. Alex or Ginger can set you Up, shop the finance BUT before you sign, Be sure to check back with them, Bumpus HD IS DEALING! How Easy was it? 1 Call Jeremy, find out whats available. 2. Select bike, and make a deposit, you work with Alex, getter done 3. fly-in, 4. DO
THE
DEAL
5. the staff are all about the best possible experience, a reasonable deal, and great service, They Enjoy what they do and it is evident in every detail. On arrival MY Bike was Out front freshly washed, topped off, ready to roll, Suspension was set, and every thing double checked. Tom Bumpus was there to introduce him self, The paper work was completed with Ms Ginger in minutes, after that I got to "ring the bell", there is no "attitude" about Buells there.with the Bell Rang it was back out front, I had never ridden an 1125 Tom, Jeremy and Myself took a 20 minute ride on some senic rolling roads near the store, It's buell country. Then Jeremy went over the details with me, as a special favor, I needed a RAM mount ball, he borrowed one from Ccryder (Neil S.) Chad Hargus and Ccryder both joined us for lunch. They installed the wiring and cradle in the lot while I started getting my stuff ready. The fly and ride deal includes shipping home any thing that you dont want to carry on the bike, in my case a carry case, the to be delivered manual, and cover. After the bike was loaded We headed out to a local eatery for .. . . . . . . . . . Fried Pickles the locals must be used to this 4 1125s' parked in front of the place I can't say enough good, Oh BTW No siginificant issues on the '25 on the trip, I managed to do as little slab as possible and preserved the tires. In round numbers I saved $1,800 over my local guy selling an '08 1125 ( counting my trip expenses ) I will save about 20% on the overall purchase... Lastly Tom Bumpus has left messages, and repeatedly asked was I satisfied? Short answer YES, If you are not happy with the local deal, call Jeremy or Tom, mention the fly and ride on Badweb, and hang on they can help you make it happen.. From the Porch Ol'dog |

Jim, Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to work with you. It was fun to get to share just a little of the landscape we get to see every day and to share a basket of fried pickles. We love what we do and where we get to do it. We are just so excited when we get to share that with someone outside the area. We're a little odd that way. |

Congrats Jim Glad to hear it went well and you are enjoying the bike. Gowindward, I can tell you this, the stock seat is fine as long as you have the pillion cover OFF. I noticed riding home from work today that I had it ON and it got HOT on the seat. I am assuming it has something to do with the flow of the air or something, but that thing is coming off before my ride in tomorrow. |

How was that stock seat To answer that Loren, an apolstered block of wood autographed by the marquis desad, that being said B.O.B. said sitting is not a sport, neither is having a sore butt... I have the old FC X1 seat and the tank bra, would you be willing to re-negotiate that trade? and do a bolt/25 seat? and let me pay for the tank bra? after the first day I knew I was going to speak to you about a custom seat in any event. the ergos for long rides can be a bit tough for me thats minor though I will be looking at the uly pegs at some point. the handling and responsiveness of the machine out weigh the minor issues, that or a CR can be set up as a sport tourer, IMO Truth is if I were 30 rather than 52, and in better shape, likely no issues at all. getting old is annoying. } |
