Over the weekend I attended the 2009 Moto Gp Race in Indianpolis. What a great time! Good racing, lots of fans, Great displays, But Missing was a Representation of BUELL!! I can't Believe that Buell did not have a display up!! There was a large crowd of Young Sportbike Enthusiats who at the time Buell seems to be targeting!! I really think Buell dropped the ball from Marketing standpoint and I was personallly disapointed because I Love Buells so much!

Good point, I read attendance on Sunday was 75,000. I don't know what displays cost, but that is a good number of rabid fans to disply to.

I went to the same event last year and Buell did an excellent job making sure that everyone was aware of their existence.

They also had a ton of bikes both at their tent and at the demo trailer for everyone to "make out with".

I guess Buell is cutting back on expenses just like the rest of us who are stuck in this black hole.

hey guys I don't know how many demo fleets Buell has but they were out in Colorado for the AMA women's conference from the 19th to 23 for the ladies. Maybe that's why. K

Actually . . you likely saw Buell and Harley-Davidson's best side . . since a significant number of the folks who have passed through Buell (i.e. Leslie Prevish, and Laura) are with "Women's Issues" now . . .

The good news is that, after 11 years, we got Diane back.

Great case in point...it was ONLY an ad campaign. Buell was and still is Buell. the sky was not falling down...

I think that BMC should rethink their advertising campaign and have a demo fleet at every major motorcycle event. Spend your advertising budget getting motorcyclist to test ride your motorcycles.

I think most everyone who owns a Buell had no intention of getting one until after they had actually test rode one. I was looking to purchase a Harley until my dealer got me to test drive a Buell, then I was hooked and have now owned one for the last 11 years.

You were part of that 10% that test rode and then purchased.

The demo program has expanded from me traveling places and letting folks ride my bike . . to a pick up truck with 2 Buell . . to a 1 ton with 18 Buells in a trailer to a small fleet of serious tractor trailers.

Buell was the first to do this and it's really worked out nicely.

Well, OK, I'm a 10%er. Those women better not have been sitting on the Buells.

I personally fell in love with Buell when I was in High School! It had to be around 92 or 93 when a dirtbike riding buddy and I were looking through sport bike magazines and one of them did a spot on a Buell, I was instantly a fan and vowed to my buddy that someday I would own one of those....Now I do!

I can't quite remember how I found out about Buell. I liked Sportsters from the time I was a kid, "Then Came Bronson", Mert Lawill, and all that. I didn't care a whit for other HD's. I vaguely remember reading something way back when about this engineer named Buell putting a hot-rodded Sportster engine in a state-of-the-art chassis. I thought that was an extremely cool concept. The first Buell I actually remember seeing was a Blast I saw in Earl Smalls HD in Marietta, GA shortly after they came out. I saw it and thought "Half a Sportster engine? Interesting idea." When I got back into motorcycles about 9 years ago, Buell was one of the first brands I tried to find out more about.

I was ready to buy one long before I rode one.

always loved cornering and when i saw the cafe racer they came out with in the 70's on a poster in a nato military exchange office in naples italy in 77,that's what really lit my fire. many a year later over at daytona bike week i saw this really cool bike with a checker flagged paint scheme on it and i just had to find out what it was. it was an s1. and boy did it sound awesome when he started that thing up.

"I think most everyone who owns a Buell had no intention of getting one until after they had actually test rode one."

I bought mine before I ever swung a leg over any Buell motorcycle, including the one I purchased.

In 1996 I fell in lust with a girl named S1 Ligntning. Actually, a picture of an S1 in a magazine. Red Snap. All the other girls were uninteresting to me from then on. There was never any question that I would own a Buell after that. It was just a question of money and timing.
