WOW! This thread and the action of the Badweb/Buell community is fantastic! As a 20yr USAF MSgt I've seen all kinds of treatment, good and bad, towards us military types but nothing like this. Grass-roots stuff is fantastic and always unexpected but greatly appreciated!

To all of you who are or will be deployed, if you know that you will be passing through Aviano AB, Italy let me know. We get a lot of the rotater flights through here and I'd gladly walk across the street to the building where you guys are kept for a couple of hours to say "HI". I'm our squadrons deployment manager and can get access to the restricted holding area for pax to/from the AOR(s).

To my brothers in arms, take care!
To everyone else back home supporting us, Thanks!

MSgt Steve Smathers

Brian,
Be on the lookout or 3 packages from the upper midwest!
I really hope the stuff in the middle of the big box makes it there in tact.
If not, I'll figure out something else and try again...

This is just the first salvo. More cool stuff to follow!

Hardcorps,
When your at Buehring, take a peer at the 56th Brigade wall painting, it's an outline of the state of PA with our unit crest. If you are exiting the T walls at the PX, hook a left on the main road, its down just a short way on the left. On the bottom left side is DKM(DropKick Murphys), and on the bottom left I had put a little oval Buell sticker.
Wonder if it's still there.

We can recieve memory sticks here, we just have to use private computers. Thats how my wife and I have been sharing pictures, letter etc, just shipping the same geek stick accross the Atlantic a few times.

Dave, yes most the PA boys here hunt pretty much everything. Any mags or DVDs would be sweet.

For what it's worth . . . the last package I sent Iraq arrived in 2 days . . . I sent an amp head to California and it still hasn't arrived 10 days later!

Baked goods may still be warm when they get there!

Court,
Your last package got really lucky, which happens sometime when it hits the outgoing plane headed this direction just right. You do have another advantage, the Military Mail aggregation point is in New Jersey.

Donald, I pulled it back out; this thread is too important to let fade away.

To anyone presently serving, and to all veterans, thank you for your service.

One thing for folks sending packages. You can add BABY WIPES to the list. I spoke with a recruiter the other day and he told me these were really good for our guys, I confirmed this with Stingaroo as well. Having a 16 month old running around, there's no shortage of wipes in this house. : )

How many people do you have on your end sending us stuff. I can have some flags flown on a C-130 for you.

If any one else wants a flag or some thing flown over Afghanistan send it my way and I will see what I can do. I can even get you a little certificate to go with it.
Thanks Steve

Steve, That is seriously cool.
I have a flag that flew over the USS Arizona Memorial, I'll have to seriously consider this option.

Brad

BTW, I really hope the packages get there tat fast. I'm not sure how long stuff will stay frozen...... however, the shelf life after thaw should be at least 4 days or so....

Hmmm.

To go along with the baby wipes, our last set of deployed BadWebbers asked for sunscreen and lip balm...is that a need for you all as well? If so, let us know and we'll add it to the list up top.

Stay safe!

Don: (Firebolt020283 )

Your package will leave tomorrow. I ran out of the flavored drink mix and didn't have the Gold Bond foot powder. Headed out to shop today, let me know if there is anything else you need in there.

By the way . . . your special surprise from the Buell's will be in your pack as well.

Having never sent an item to a military address is there anything special I should know?

Post office only, or can I use UPS?

Forbidden items? Items frowned upon?
