I don't hate squirrels or anything, they are the prime ingredient in Brunswick Stew, after all, but this is some funny stuff right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4ET63h2YM0 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f5d_1172741350 What is a squirrels terminal velocity? |

It's wrong I know, but I can't stop laughing! Second video definitely the better one. |

I guess I'd like to see a "no squirrels where hurt making this video" disclaimer but sometimes you just have to hope they weren't hurt and that they learned something from the experience. I have an ongoing relationship with a gaggle of red squirrels that we feed along with the birds. Yesterday, I counted 13 red squirrels visible all at once, nine feeding and four coming and going. I've devised a couple of red squirrel training devices centered around a dog training collar and and animal control electric fence controller. Administering short duration, non lethal, low amperage shocks to squirrels busily engaged in chewing open a bird feeder will immediately divert their attention. And after one or two shocks, that particular squirrel will not come back again. At least for a while. Red squirrels are cute rats at best. Almost likable but with that feeling can be easily replaced by anger and hatred. Any animal that does not have bladder and bowel control and voids itself wherever it happens to be, needs further evolution to be truly likable in my book. The one that "adopted" my motor home paid with his life after a series of failed disbarrings and a one mile relocation effort. Jack |
